I am off to wembley

Recommended Posts

so next Monday is a big day for us hardy berkshire folk, we have reached the championship play-off final (thats soccer for our american BMs) where we will be playing Swansea..a very good team at this level...at wembley our national stadium for a place in the premier league which we last graced 4 years ago, gonna be a great day..we have suffered two play-off defeeats in the past was at the first..and it hurt like fuck but missed the 2nd cos I was in LOS at the time. this time it won`t` be so painful if we lose firstly because we have actually been in the premier league unlike when we lost the 1st play-off final and secondly I will only be 18 days from my next trip to Pattaya. :chogdee

Good luck.

Have they got the field (pitch to Brits) fixed (sorted to Brits)yet?Last I read, they expect to continue to replace after every few matches.

Being the national stadium,it would be wonderful to have the best grass in the country since it hosts so many important matches.

yes its more or less sorted now, in fact they have the champions league final there on staurday before the main course on Monday,

what i neglected to mention is the fact that all 80.000 fans at the game will be travelling along the same motorway and using the same trainline which actually passes through Reading to get into London..somehow I can`t see the trains from south wales stopping here.

Good luck to the Royals.

Hope you have abetter result than Brentford did last month. Dunno which end you are allocated, but there is a pub at the West end called the Green Man hotel. Dagenal road/ drive ??

They have beer tents in garden and a Jamaican outfit, do jerk chicken and pork- no good for the yids  They are there for all big games- and playoffs I guess. They sell their own spice - it's bloody hot.

I'm sure the premier league will be happy to see you win. :whistling:

yes we have been allocated the west end, the green man is going to be a Reading pub by all accounts..

stick to sheep-shagging and rugby Glyn, you are world champs at the first and average at best at the second :whistling:

Must admit i have some mates who support Swansea, but i did have mates who supported Cardiff too.Would have loved them 2 in the final, could have reduced the population of south wales by quite a bit,and every fan acroos the country would have been saying ANIMALS

My head says Reading though, would prefer an english side in the premiership, but would be happy for friends if Swansea won and it would be a huge kick up the arse for Cardiff too

I am assuming you're a season ticket holder? Was it easy for you to get tickets?

Doubt they will fill Wmbeley, so you will probably get tickets there. look on Readings, or Swansea - if you read welsh, website under 'tickets'. That will give you the lowdown

yes i am a season ticket holder, it was quite easy to get tickets because we got priority, and for the last posters information both clubs have sold their whole allocation of 40.000 tickets each, so its near as damn it a full house.

I hope not.I have to pull for Lady Alice Ferguson's charges for 2 hours tomorrow because it paid 8-1 when I bought it in January.I also got "any UK team" at 3-2.Any spanish team was even money and Barca was 2-1.Barca wins,I break even,MU wins, nice payday!C'mon Alice.

I wonder if you will find a lot of abandoned Man.U scarves under the seats ? :whistling:

edit:My ducats were purchased on Feb 12 & 13.

Well you broke even and Reading have the same end of the stadium as the winners tonight. We football supporters are great believers in such omens.

Good luck Reading !

I thought there was a hope at halftime. But there isn't a team around to beat Barca.Instead of watching at home,I went to the big casino to watch with all the locals (Mexicans).Of course their hero,Javier Hernandez (Chicarito),was a total no-show today, meaning MU was playing with 10 the entire match. After his 3rd offside,I started calling him "chocharita" which roughly translated means "little pussy",which really pissed off the locals. But they eventually realized he was still in Mexico for all he contributed.VanDerSar had a match to forget as his final one for MU.So after the gov't too their 3% I almost broke even.

On Reading....

Hi,

Well done Swansea.First Welsh team in Prem. They played a nicer brand of football than Reading. Good game but dodgy defending on both sides.

Great day out, obviously could have been better if we won. left ourselves a mountain to climb with some schoolboy 1st half defending, got it back to 3-2 then hit the post..if that had gone in I am convinced we would have gone on to win, then another reckless challange killed the game with 10 minutes to go..good luck to the swans in the premier league..they are going to need it!

Win or lose. A game at Wembley is a bit special.

My son couldn't believe how small it feels inside the stadium. I know the disappointment of a loss there, but we have had losses onless enjoyable occasions.

Stay in the Championship and we might win a few more games and be playing you at Griffin Park. I did say might.

Swansea City play a superb brand of football

and are a welcome addition to the Premiership, unlike

the scum that go by the name of Cardiff.

They almost threw it away thinking after 1/2 time

they had already won it, but steadied the ship

and won in a canter at the end.

Scott Sinclair ,how cool is that guy ?
