Anyone know where the big fight is being shown and the time. I fancy Haye to win.

You probably fancied Hatton to win also.

I don't know if it's on True. It's being transmitted live on Supersport - I'm getting it on Astro. Coverage starts at 01:45 Thai clock.

They forgot the waltz music. That's the only way that one was going in the books, was as part of Dancing With the Stars.

I'd never seen Haye before. He was very unimpressive, fighting a huge guy by taking a wide stance, no footwork at all and hands down. How was he expecting to win? I don't get it at all. Head bobbing doesn't win points, doesn't land punches, even Manny Steward was giving Klischko crap for trying to head-bob with him -- why do that, he said to his boy, you just get tired.

So anybody know what Haye was up to?

Haye claims that his toe was broken. Pfft. His effort was disgraceful. I'm shocked that he was the betting favorite in England and Klitschko was only a 2:1 favorite in Las Vegas.

I'm shocked that he was the betting favorite in England ...

He wasn't. The big guy was 8/13 - 4/6 favourite. Maybe you don't understand UK betting odds if you think that you can have a 2/1 favourite in a boxing match.

Maybe you didn't undertand that 2/1 was referring to the Las Vegas odds.

The HBO broadcast said Haye was the betting favorite in England.

In 1997, virtually every Bangkok newspaper reported that the value of the baht had fallen 120 per cent in day.

HBO obviously never did their research either,

Pre fight Klitschkto was 8/13 fav, Haye was 11/8.

Neither one of these guys would draw flies outside Germany and the UK.

Oh I think Klitschko would fill a hall in Las Vegas, HBO loves him and vice-versa. But neither of them could lick the postage stamps of almost any past champion you could name. Heavyweights have been almost horrible for quite a while, but these days they are completely horrible. No class, no colour, no charisma and ... um, what's that other thing, trying to remember, oh, yeah, no talent.

I don't understand U.K. boxers or betting odds. Except to bet against U.K. fighters. Jack

If he could they would do it. But as you say the heavies are simply not worth watching. They are too bulked up, oo slow and no charisma. I only watch 160 and below now.

That's not true. For the last three years, Wlad has been fighting more on ESPN than HBO because the latter didn't want to py for his fights. HBO does not like dealing with Wlad's promoters. Instead, the company gets played by Golden Boy Promotions, Al Haymon, etc.

Well.... HBO didn't hesitate on this pretty predictable yawner, or at least one that I was sure was never going down as a top bout. And I'm sure they made money. They even showed it on their Spanish station. Wlad has been fighting on ESPN because that's the kind of fights Wlad has been fighting -- i.e. losers. Let's face it, European canvasbacks are not money-makers. Not Wlad's fault but no first-class promoter including HBO would touch yawner payday fights. HBO couldn't sell the Haye fight as a pay per view, but they leapt up and took it because Haye was at least a name that people knew. And EVERYBODY knows Wlad's name.

So? You said that HBO loves Wlad. It doesn't and you said nothing to support your initial statement.

So? You can't deny (and didn't try) that HBO rushes to showcase and carry Wlad's fights when it can. The Klitschko-Haye fight was on HBO, as were many previous Klitschko fights. HBO makes tonnes of money off Wlad. Of course HBO loves him, why wouldn't they? Heavyweights still get the viewers. HBO loves viewers. HBO loves anyone who brings viewers.

There may be and probably are people that HBO currently loves MORE than Wlad such as Mayweather and Pacman. But HBO currently loves Wlad. So would I if Wlad were putting millions of viewers and profits in my pocket. HBO is a company. Of COURSE they love anyone that brings them money by the pickup-bed load.

I absolutely can. HBO has passed on more Klitschko fights than it has carried in the last three years. Meanwhile it has carried every crappy Paul Williams and Andre Berto fight because Al Haymon has a tighter relationship with the network.
