With the work going on in Soi 2 I was wondering if anyone has stayed of recent date at the Sabai Resort. This is the one on Second Road next to the Alcazar. I am aware that it is run in similar fashion to the places in Soi 2 (girl friendly) but have not read any reviews. Your comments appreciated.

Always stay in the Sabai Resort when in Pattaya. Lovely setting with three nice pools if you like siting around a pool now and again.

The rooms in the big block on the left as you enter from reception are a bit basic but okay, sometimes some noise as people return to their rooms late at night. Think they go for about 1000 baht a night.

Last stay we booked a Ruen Thai Bungalow, it is called the paradise zone, basically about twenty bungalows in their seperate area with their own pool about half way through the resort. Think we paid about 1800 a night due to some promotion on at the time. The breakfast was included and was of a reasonable standard, served buffet style.

Some of the bungalows at the rear of the resort receive some noise from a disco at the back of Bic C until late in the evening, never bothered myself.

Overall I really like the place and the location, never seems to be too busy either. thumbs up from me.

Regards

stayed there in march and was my 3rd visit to the hotel. always liked the place and has been said great if you like lazing by the pool, with all 3 pools having nice settings.

in march stayed at a type b villa at the top end, very secluded and the noise from hollywood disco round the back never bothered me as once in the room couldn't hear anything.

always been girl friendly and still no problem when taking 2 girls back, if you have a regular girl can arrange with reception not to bother with leaving id.

one of the reasons i like staying there is it's next to big c, so plenty of shops, restaurants, supermarket, banks etc on your doorstep, plus a short walk to soi 6 (baht bus back if you haven't got the energy? lol) and lots of decent breakfasts nearby queen vic, jimmy mac's, tropical bert's, gregg's etc.

there are cheaper hotels but i'd recommend sabai resort to anybody. :thumbup

cheers

Thanks guys. I have almost made my mind up to give it a go. At 1060 baht low season internet rate this seems a good buy to me.

If your budget allows I would upgrade to a Villa A or B, far more private IMHO.
