A foreign man apparently committed suicide at a shooting range in Jomtien late on Wednesday night. Police made their way to the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya to inspect the body of the foreign man who was carrying no forms of identification. Security Camera footage from the shooting range shows the man holding a loaded semi-automatic handgun and behind him was a Thai member of staff who is responsible for maintaining safety on the range. The man is seen to place the gun to his chin and pull the trigger and then slump over the counter in front of him. Initially he was taken to the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya where medical staff were unable to save his life. Staff at the shooting range did indicate this was the man’s third visit. On the first two, he arrived in a car and on the third and final visit he came on a rented motorbike. The Police investigation continues.

Such a sad waste of life !

The whole thing was caught on video. Very weird, almost like it was an accident. Yet, he had to know the gun was loaded, the Thai guy was just a couple of feet behind him, and the whole thing happened so fast that the Thai couldn't even react. Very weird.

You don't suppose... I'm just idea-munching here, stream of thought sort of, you don't suppose it was, nah.. probably not.

I was going to say suicide, but probably not.

If he wanted to do it it was probably his safest and quickest exit, why is that a waste, sad yes but hardly a waste as he seems to have succeeded in his endeavor.

I dont think it was the safest as shooting yourself in the head with a handgun with only a bit of chipboard between you and the next booth, the potential to injure other shooters is high.

who knows the reasons why, who knows where hes from, but here in the uk there is often people to turn too before it gets so far..

its sad because he is someone's son, maybe brother or father people grieving after this person but whom he did not turn for help :chogdee

I hope he can rest in peace. There used to be rental ranges like the ones in Pattaya here in California until state shut them down because of incidents like this. I feel for the staff and the other guests having to witness it.

Of course it will be declared suicide, although the film of it actually happening that way may confuse the police for a little while.
