Has anyone stayed at or know if the Holiday Inn on north beach Road (soi 1)is guest friendly? Have a buddy with "points" for free stay but assume that there is probably a 1000thb guest fee like at the holiday inn in Bangkok

I believe the answer is "No, not guest friendly", but I have never stayed there.

That said Hilton is said to be the same, but as an elite HH member I talked with the hotel manager before booking and he said no problem.

It really did not matter as I was never questioned anyway.

One way to reduce the chance of paying guest fee is to book for two and register the first BF.

As you are questioned about additional bar fines, say "Already registered", they may ask for your room number and see there there are two.

I have done this both at Holiday Inn and Swissotel in Bangkok.

Thank you, tonythai6.

I happen to have Holiday Inn points, too, and was wondering about any joiner fee, which would prevent me from staying there.

Based on your experience, that does not seem to be a problem.
