Pattaya Discovery Beach Hotel, Pattaya.

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of August. Booked hotel through Booking.com, and actually founs that the price was quoted was the price i paid. At 2000baht a night, its not cheap, but it is great value.

Had a room on the 11th floor, with fantastic views of the beach and Walking street/South Pattaya. Rooms comprises of a HUGE double bed, a fair sized balcony, flat screen tv with all the usual cable channels, and fairly fast wifi( recorded the down speed at 9 meg).A nice sized bathroom with a walkin shower, and a large sized bath.

A nice sized swimming pool out front, and a fairly well stocked out gym room.

I was never up in time to sample the buffet breakfast, but by all accounts it is meant to be good.

Stayed in this hotel in Sept and would never stay there again. I wasn't given the room I had advance paid for but was instead 'upgraded' to another. I had paid for a southwest facing suite closest to the beach and was given a northeast facing suite furthest away from the beach. I received no adequate addressing of the issue at reception and after complained to Asia Travel through whom it was booked. I got complete bullshit back in writing from the hotel manager with no acknowledgement of any mistake on their part.

 

Our balcony in the room we got was covered with bird shit from pigeons. The staff said they'd clean it off and never did.

 

The breakfast buffet was mass produced, low quality crap.

 

I would never stay there again and would advise BMs to avoid the place like the plague.

Booked both times through agoda, maybe agoda have a better relationship with the hotel.

I'm glad you had a good experience. Mine was as described a year ago.

 

I don't think my lousy experience was the result of the hotel's relationship with Asia Travel. It originated with a hotel who's management is crap and in denial about poor customer experiences and who clearly hasn't trained its staff in quality customer service.

 

Everyone's experience and reaction is different.

 

I won't ever risk being subjected to another crappy experience in this hotel and I will always advise anyone who inquires to avoid it.
