Then they interupt watching the movies to make other announcements 2 or 3 times in quick succession too - always annoys me.

I was thinking of Southwest Airlines before I hit the start button. Once when taking a Southwest flight across Texas, the female flight attendant describe how we could use the seat cushion as a flotation device in the event we landed in someone's jacuzzi. She had several other good lines, but that's the only one I could remember.
