Can't you do it? 10 by 8 foot wall is only 8 wall studs, a bit for the floor and ceiling plates and 7 sheets of drywall and a preframed door. 3-4 hours work before paint.

It is not a job I would take on myself.... no work permit!!!!

More seriously I am having to beware as when I do a bit of do-it-yourself these days I spend 3 days after with a a bad back.

Shame I'm not about as I'd do that in a couple of hours. I was a stud wall and metal frame ceiling fixer a few years back. :buzzsaw

Make you right there. Just thought there may be one knocking around who was favoured by the expats. Hmmm. Pre framed door 'eh. What will they think of next. Cheers for that!

I'd think anyone who owns a hotel would have a handyman or know who to call to get one to hire for a small job. Ask one.

Here is is hard not to buy a preframed door unless you're a contractor. Preframed doors and wide mouldings are a boon to the home DYI'er.

I'd look for a home centre or lumberyard vs. say a massage parlor or cafeteria. Try that.

Note also "Stud Wall" would be a pretty good porno actor's name.

I'm thinking airfare from the UK and accommodation while he did the work would probably swing the deal.

You know that! :bhappy If I was around though and he supplied the materials then I'd probably make it last a day and do a good job. In England you'd be looking at somewhere in the region of £140 but in Thailand 3000 baht and a few beers would be suffice. Get someone Thai to do it, they'll probably do it for a few hundred baht but not so sure about the workmanship. :o

Thanks ricktoronto! I took your advice and hired the Thai handyman from tilaks restaurant. For labour and materials he initially asked B10,000. When he found out that the job was for one of his own he agreed to my B5000. So B5000 got me labour, materials, all delivered to site, the workmanship looks ok from the pics, and saved me a lot of hassle. It also means I have a proven subby on tap for future ref. I'm happy with that, but what would you guys say? ....
