Recommendation sought for transport to and accommodation on Koh si Chang

Recommended Posts

I am considering my options for a short break from Pattaya and I think Koh si Chang (near Sri Racha NOT Koh Chang near Trat) could be an option.

Therefore I would like your advice on how to get there and where to stay on the Island. Close to the sea is preferrable.

Most travel agents will offer you transport to either for about 600 baht one way to Kho Chang, i am not aware of Kho Chang near Sri Racha

I went to ko sichang for a couple of days and (in my opinion!!) it was crap. Nice for a day trip but fuck all going on in the evening. To get there, catch the bus going to bangkok up on sukhumvit road. Get off when it stops outside Robinsons in Sriracha. When you get off, walk to the right and you will see the tuk-tuks lined up. Get one of these to take you to the pier where you can catch the ferry over to the Island. From vague recollection it is only about 140 baht in total from Pattaya to the island. I stayed at the Sichang Palace Resort & Hotel in the small town. It is a short walk from the pier where you will land. It was just OK but very basic. If you are going take a girl with you or you'll be sleeping alone.

Better option is to go a bit further (10 minutes or so on the bus after sriracha) and spend a day or three in BangSaen.

Cheers

I enjoyed the visit - but it is true there is no nightlife. I took Mr. T out and bus/songtaew back - and IMHO the 600 to Mr. T was worth it ;-)
