Manhattan Hotel bkk

I've been trying to get a room at the Manhattan Hotel on Soi 15 in Bkk. I noticed the reviews were good and most were paying around 900-1000 baht. But when I walked in they said 1600/night. Does anyone know how to get the lower price for this hotel? I am currently in Bkk.

 

Also, if someone could recommend an alternative hotel. This one has a gym and pool.
