Town Lodge Hotel, BKK, Sukh Soi 18

Recommended Posts

HI guys,

Any of you looking for reasonably priced accommodation off Suhkumvit Road then please note I have just taken over as General Manager at Town Lodge Hotel on Soi 18. We are five minutes by tuk-tuk from Nana and a short walk to Cowboy. Asok skytrain station is almost at the end of the soi.

There is plenty to do to get the hotel as I want it but these are mainly tweaks rather than knocking the place down and rebuilding! We have a large bar (Toxic Club) that will be open from midday in mid October (presently 19:00) and at end October food will also be available including room service - only a breakfast at the present time.

Room rates are B2500 per night for a Jacuzzi suite; B1500 for superior double and B1300 for standard double BUT any bookings from here will get a TWENTY PERCENT discount.

True Visions are expected in the next 24 hours so all sports will be on in the bar. No joiner fees and we have a few hostesses in our bar.

Nice quiet location in the heart of the action and everyone will be made most welcome.

Thanks and have a good day.

It's been a couple of years since I stayed at the Town Lodge, but it was a very good budget hotel back then. Guest friendly to the max. The only real downside for me was the lack of an elevator.

Cookie - Is Miss J still tending the bar at Toxic?

Is there convenient car parking available or a parking area?

Street parking & it's a dead end Soi

Jen started another bar in Queen's Park Plaza, Badabing I think was the name.

There's a Badabing in another location now, but not sure it's her's.

I think Kevin had a typo in the thread title, it's Soi 18, not 16.

Oops. That was my mistake reading the post without my glasses.

I'll fix it.

I've stayed at Town Lodge a couple of times and always thought it was pretty good. The lack of evelovator is a little bit of a pain (I don't travel light!) but no big deal. Both times there were quite a few mosquitos but maybe I was just unlucky. I stayed there a few months ago for 2 nights as I wanted somewhere cheap and out the way - the price then was 1000baht on the door. I'd always be happy to stay there again although do think Baileys studio just around the corner (down a shortcut alley to Soi 20) is very good (very big room, flat screen tv and with small kitchenette area) for the same price. However Town Lodge feels a bit more secretive and private and so a very good option too.

She managed BadaBing for a short time. It was owned by the same Swiss guy who owned Toxic and TL. But that was like four years ago. J's involvement with BadaBing was short-lived.

Yes, RTB funded Badabing, but it was Jen's idea when she saw the open spot available there in QPP.

Everything that ever started in that spot has gone tits up though. About the only one to survive was Flaming Moe's and I'm not sure that's even there any longer.

  • 2 weeks later...

'Have stayed there myself and liked it. I always travel light, and so the lack of elevator was not much of an issue. 'Never did see much going on in Toxic though. They used to run a tuk-tuk for guests back & forth to the head of the soi.
