Manchester -BKK Non-stop

Recommended Posts

I can't believe an airline hasn't seen the feasability on this route. I seem to remember a few ago (2009 approx) there was talk of Thai running a non-stop service, but haven't heard anything since. Has there ever been a non-stop flight between these destinations??

MAN-BKK is a low yield route(revenues) and with Emirates/Etihad/Qatar competition no chance of a direct route. Yes Thai have looked at this many times over the last 10 years and have come to the conclusion - If we struggle on one of the blue ribbon routes LHR-BKK how the hell can we make money ex Manchester.

To the best of my knowledge Manchester has never had a schedule airline operate direct to Bangkok - Charter Airline perhaps on an Ad-Hoc basis.

I often go via the Middle East, and I don't see too many passengers who got on with me get off at BKK.

So I guess the traffic wouldn't justify it.

Not sure I would use Thai either if they did....... would depend on the price.

Not that I wouldn't appreciate getting it over with, done plenty of non-stops from Europe/London.

Of course Manchester-Karachi is another matter.

MAN-BKK would be viable for the likes of THAI if punters would pay 700-800GBP for economy . And you know what the answer is !

Possibly....

'Eeeeeeee, Ay yup lad, that be a fair bit o brass fer it'........

They would need to have hooks near the doors for all the flat caps and I bet the clogs wouldn't fit under the seat infront.

Its gotten that I actually prefer the "leg stretch" mid-journey nowadays, as long as the transfer time is no more than about 2 hours! One of my work partners prefers them, coz' he reckons he gets fed more ! Peasant !!!

I went via Manchester , Zurich to Bangkok via Swiss Air. Its only an hour more than a direct flight.

thats sounds interesting.I normaly go to manchester via etihad, qatar or uae,for my yearly visit to super stoke.Usualy a great trip and getting off half way is ok to stretch the legs, and breaks the journey up nicely

Off the top of my head it left at 7pm and got into Bangkok early pm the next day. This suited me fine as it lined up with the Bell bus.

The one time I tried the Swiss Air flights, the short 1 hour connection was missed :crying: Just co-incidence tho' :sh The return leg had nowhere near as short a transfer time.
