Sabai Lodge vs. Pattaya Centre

I have reservations at both hotels. At Sabai Lodge I have reserved a mini suite and at Pattaya Center I have reserved the junior suite. I am looking for opinions from anybody who may have stayed in either one of these suites.

Just remember that playing this sort of game, holding multiple reservations and then cancelling one at the last minute is why hotels get pissed off and start putting up prices, demanding deposits and even asking you to pay upfront for your stay.

 

Do the honourable thing and tell one of them ASAP.

 

If you don't like it, move on.

Sabai Lodge is in another leauge  :) Pattaya Centre has oldish and worn down rooms.

 

Stay at SL !! ...or find some other place.

I don't know anything about Pattaya Center, but Sabai Lodge is just fine.  Are you really going to Pattaya to sit around in a hotel room?  Anyway, I'd stay at Sabai Lodge anytime.

You only have to be burned 1 time, even with a confirmed reservation and you will start doing the same thing. I would prefer paying up front as it would give a little more security.

 Stick to Sabai Lodge on soi 2, I think it is a great location,  very close to the soapies and big C.

Why would you get burned with a confirmed reservation ? Perhaps some hotels know about characters using tricks such as yours and therefore deliberately overbook ? I don't know, I don't get burned.

 

Also, thinking about it, why would you book an hotel before doing any research ?

 

C'mon, play fair. Tilacno1 was correct regarding the hotels telling people they are full when in fact, they have only the word of some farang.

You should not lose your faith in people Ty_Stick! I know it doesn't feel that great when you get in at 1 a.m. after a 20-hour flight and the hotel has screwed up your reservation (as the Bangkok Dynasty Inn did to me once). But that doesn't mean you should take it out on every hotel.

I stopped staying at the Dynasty - I didn't like their dungeon-flavor rooms anyway - but I still try to give hotels enough time if I have to cancel.

Follow up with two or three messages to make sure the hotel has not misplaced your reservation, and even call them. That should take care of it.

Unfortunately, the above is a valid reason for hotels to demand a deposit.

 

At least have the courtesy for the sake of other members,  to cancel the reservation you have no intention of honouring

Hello , i have stayed at the pattaya centre and i will be staying there again soon but i had a deluxpanoramic room , great views , i did have a look in the other rooms and they looked fine to me

I love the big rooms, but they must be numbers 601,602,701,702,801,802 etc as the jnr suites are only located on the front of the building (maybe back end as well)

good rooms to party in, the girls like them, central to beach road and most malls. the view is absolutely breathtaking with large windows and plenty of sun.

The downside is they are a bit oldest (but still adequate to what you pay) the bathroom is simple and the phone has to go through a operater, no chance to use the internet from your room.

I have never stayed at the Flipper Lodge, however for the first time next month I will be staying at Flipper House.

The Sabai Lodge has just started work on a new wing and pool.  It may be best to avoid it for the next few months or stay opposite in the Sabai Inn - much bigger rooms and much better value for money IMHO.

Well thats just great to hear,I am booked on for 2 weeks arriving Dec31 and have paid deposit already.

 Typical Thai mentality starting work in the high season.Why not wait in until next May or why did they not start it about 3 months ago

It's something called the rainy season plus they had to terminate the leases on the shops and the Zebra Bar and Go-Go opposite the Kumm Pun (?) pub.  You shouldn't be affected if you are not in the old wing.

 Its the first time I have stayed there so I do not know much about it,I am staying in the Standard B parkside.Will this be affected and also will there be a pool to swim in?

There are another two pools which are both set away from the building work.

 

Unfortunately the Type B Rooms are, as you say, parkside (old wing) (when they say park they actually mean car park) and the building work is taking place at the eastern end of this wing.
