San Miguel Pale Pilsner to be exact. Dark Bottle vs Light Bottle

That's interesting to me, thanks for the photo. I can just about make out that it says 'product of the Philippines' on the label yet the label looks more akin to the Spanish San Miguel beer rather than the Philippine San Miguel Beer. I'm wondering if that is aimed at the European Tourists who are more familiar with the Spanish beer. I dislike the taste of the Spanish beer but like the Philippine one. In the UK we can't get the Philippine one or SML. I think San Miguel Spain must have had their lawyers block the Philippine beer which is a real shame because they used to be the same company a long time ago. I'm positive the Philippine beers would be popular in the UK and outsell the Spanish beer.

How long has it been available in Thailand as I've never seen it on sale before? Is it brewed in LOS or imported and bottled?

Can you also get the San Miguel Apple flavour which is now very popular in the Philippines?

Good to know that the 'owner' hasn't a clue what he's serving his customers. Now I know where his staff get it from.

Yes, I've tried to get a SMB there with less than satisfactory results including wrong beer at an inflated price.

Well now you know to ask for a San Miguel Dark.

I think that's a great name for it even though it's not the real name. Makes it easy for the Staff imho.

Light or Dark?

Ah yes, The customers need to figure out the wrong name somehow in order to get the appropriate drink. Seems like a bit of a learning curve is involved, for the customers only apparently.

Edit

BTW, I didn't receive SML in it's stead.

LOL, I know what you're saying but I just think it's best to keep it as simple as possible when there's so many different languages in Pattaya.

Just to make it clear, I ordered the frigin' drink that was advertised on the placard outside and when I tasted my drink it I double checked the bin and it was incorrect just as I expected. The girl then returned with the correct name on the bill but didn't change the drink . How's that for service?

Anyway, I wonder how the party went tonight? If I was in Patts I would have checked it out. SML all night at 95 per bottle is good. I like to support bars with sensibly priced beer even if it's only a party night. Leaves me with more money to buy lady drinks, lol.

Long ago (mid-70s) and far away, I think there was a San Miguel Negra in the Philippines but never felt the need to try it as long as Pale Pilsner aka, the real thing was available. I've seen the painted domestic label in Guam but not otherwise outside the RP
