Have terrible pizza experiences in Pattaya however I decided to give it one more try. There's a small Italian open air restaurant on Arunothai (of all places) near Nirun condo. Had a small pizza with thin crust, anchovies and capers(a first in Thailand as well) and the house red wasn't bad either.

Thanks for mentioning that, looks OK to me, will try it sometime, had never heard of it.

+ Thks to bratpack for the comment and directions.

Try Thai food......it is pretty good. Then there are quite a few French/Italian/ etc etc places for that western fix. Of course there are Pizza places....... but I never eat it here, You can Google

After 13 years in New York City (where you can get good pizza), I found Pattaya to be an almost total disappointment. Outside of the slices at the FLB monthly crawls, I virtually never eat pizza in

Corporate chain pizzas are never ranked very high by pizza gourmets in the U.S. and Pizza Hut is no exception. But because of cutthroat competition, it tends to be cheap. It's seen mainly as belly-fi

Holiday Inn patio has a pizza special from 4 to 6 I believe. It is 50% off and they have thin crusts and interesting ideas like Greek pizza and tom yum gung pizza. I ran Pizza parlors for 10 or 12 years but what do I know? If you like thin crust Greek style they are delicious and wine specials are 100 baht per glass.

Best Pizza i had in Pattaya, Pizza Big and Lee's Diner, were just OK at best. While living in Pattaya, i gave it up. Started believing you can't get good pizza in Thailand. Best thing you can say about Pizza Hut is they can deliver in 15 minutes.

However, coming home from Soi Cowboy last night I stopped at Pala at the entrance of Sukhumvit MRT. Just before closing they're half price (45 baht for large slice), real mozzarella, mushrooms, even Italian sausage.

I love East coast pizza (New York style). Italian pizza is okay, but not a favorite of mine. After East Coast, I like Chicago style. Unlike many here, I don't have a hatred of Pizza Hut. In fact, I prefer their pan pizza to many of the "Italian" style, probably because of the oil/butter they use to add fat to the crust. Being in the mood for pizza, I called 1150 while staying on Soi 11 in Bangkok. They said it would take 45 minutes, but you are right on. It took only 15 minutes to get to my room!

I was impressed with the English speaking person on the phone. She also asked questions that impressed me, "How far up soi 11 from Sukhumvit is your hotel? It is on the left or right hand side?" I swear her English was much better than someone taking orders in the States these days.

Oh, one last thing. It was buy one get one free which was a nice unexpected bonus.

I agree... I usually get their double pepperoni with extra cheese. You can request extra sauce or extra garlic at no charge. Three different crusts from thin to very thick. A medium is under 500 baht delivered.

I just tried this pizza www.nypizzahouse.com, based on the posts here and cannot agree. It is a poor pizza nothing like a New York pizza. And the buffalo wings were not buffalo wings. They had an odd taste, but my companion thought they were good. She commented that Pizza Hut was more tasty for both pizza and chicken and I'd have to sadly agree.

I can live with the New York Pizza House pizza...it's the one I usually order for delivery (thick crust, sausage, pepperoni, mushroom). I did order their buffalo wings and they were absolutely foul (pardon the pun).

Best Lasagna I've ever had in the world was at L'Opera, Soi 39 Sukhumwit, Bangkok.

Disclosure: I've never been to New York on Sicily.

Best Pizza in Pattaya IMNSHO is Pan Pan, any location.

Damn my friend I remember the lasagna at L Opera on Soi 39, it was awesome. Their pizzas are OK. In Pattaya, I thought the pizza at Globetrotters on Soi 7 tucked around the corner of Tequila Reef is pretty good and priced very well. I also had a couple pizzas delivered from New York Pizza House which are pretty good but a bit over priced IMHO. Their website can be found here - http://www.nypizzahouse.com/ (Note: It takes a while for the pizza to get delivered)

I agree guys but a bit pricey but worth it. I'll have to try some of the other places as I enjoy a good pie. Nice thread

For me the crust and sauce were not good. The cheese, pepperoni, and bacon were okay though. But neither the crust nor sauce had any flavor. I think they simply use canned tomato sauce as their pizza sauce. This is what I normally get with Italian style pizza.

I agree that the buffalo wings had an odd taste. Made me wonder if the chicken had gone bad. But even if they had not gone bad, I would not consider them buffalo wings. No tanginess at all. Buffalo wings need a bit of vinegar on them to be authentic.

My TGF does chicken wings at the house, we buy the proper wing-bit from Tesco, as opposed to the cheaper other bits which I think are part of the thigh. They are a bit small of course,

She left me a cooked lot recently and said why not microwave them for a snack later. She serves a salty chilli sauce for dipping which straight on the tongue like that is powerful. I microwaved them and chucked them in some plastic container with a big lump of butter and the chilli sauce and did the cocktail shake for a while.

Rather good and had me looking round for a Bud!

Do you eat the actual wing tip or rip it off and throw it away?

Same problem here with the chicken wings from New York Pizza. They smelled so bad that I had to throw them away. Makes you wonder about the whole operation they run. A place that frequently sends out rotten meat is not kosher imo.

hmm, I'll have to duck in there and see if that's the same Lasse I know, and of course sample their offering as well.

If they put pork on their pizza, it's definitely not kosher.

I've never had pizza there but the one meal I did have had me wishing I had Spaghetti O's in it's stead.

I used to use Don Joe's exclusively for pizza nights on the 2 for 1 bar crawl. They declined in quality as Joe began to leave the running of the business to his son(s).

Same with the food quality...price has steadily gone up while quality has gone down, IMHO. The chef seems to use one seasoning now...SALT.

Yeah!

I decided to ask around at home about pizza & similar to here on the board, everyone's got a different idea of what is good.

The most 'Italian' place turned out to be the most bland IMHO.

I've tried all the chains, Domino's, Papa John's, Pizza Hut. Papa John's wins for me so far, but it still doesn't hold a candle compared to just about any Sicilian pizzeria in NYC.

I will definitely be holding out for pizza until my next NYC visit in April.

Having read all the recommendations on this topic (including one from an Italian)

This week I found myself trying my very first pizza in Pattaya. It’s not that I don’t like pizza, normally this type of food is never even on my radar for an afternoon /evening meal in Thailand but when I am in other countries then that is a different matter.

Tried the Hawaiian at 240 baht and washed it down with a 95 baht bottle of San Miguel. I am not saying it was my best ever pizza...lots of pineapple but it was good and I did eat it all even the crust.

Pizza Big on Naklua Road will now be on my list of alternatives...let’s say every 2 or 3 months for a change.

Previous to that, the best ever pizza I can remember was in a basement restaurant on O’Connell Street, Limerick, Ireland and was a sea food concoction of mussels, prawns and other delicacies. In 2005 it was €18 Euro then that is around 800 baht. I will always remember this because at the time it was the most expensive pizza I ever had and even now have never even come close to paying that kind of price.
