Has anyone stayed At Nirun Grand Ville lately. It falls within the limits of my rather meagre budget and I have receiver some photos etc from the agent. The map was rather ambiguous so some idea as to where it is would also help. The agent said it is near Foodland but as I have no idea where foodland is this info did not enlighten me. By the photos it looks like a massive complex. All help appreciated.

Try this URL , its there website. I phoned the place and checked on prices. They have 2 room apartments there fully furnished with air con. I think it was about 8000-10000 baht per month. I've been looking for a place since I'm retirng there around august, september time frame. Hope this helps.

Don't know about the place, but Foodland is on Central Pattaya Road (Pattaya Klang) few miles away from second road. It is not close to the regular baht bus route. There is a route for Pattaya Klang as well that will take you back to second road.

I had a look at that complex last year when I was condo shopping.  Yes, it is a large complex.  It is not that near Foodland, unless you have a motorbike or like to walk.  I also would think twice about walking home late at night from Central Pattaya Rd. as the soi is a bit dark.

If you are looking to rent, the prices are very reasonable.  But realize that each condo reflects the taste and pocketbook of the owner.  If the location and price appeals to you I suggest you have a look before renting as the difference in furnishings varies greatly. Rental prices last year varied between 8 to 12000 B per month.  Plus electric.  The furnishings seemed to make the most difference in the rent.

I later purchased a condo between Beach Rd. and Second Rd. and near Big C so I don't need a bike.  A big plus.

I don't know how the purchase prices run a the Nirun, though I suspect they are lower than most.  Again, take a look before you commit.YMMV.

Like SFdude said, Foodland is on Central Rd, about midway between 3rd Rd and Sukhumvit Rd.  Baht busses run along Central Rd regularly at least during the afternoon, don't know about late at night.

Checked these Condo's out on my last trip.

They wanted 520,000 Baht for 36sq metre units...no larger ones left.  The finance deal was ok...interest free for the first twenty months. Body Corp fees 200 Baht per month...I know a couple of falangs who live there and they really like it and have not had any problems...yet.
