I have never heard anyone mention this before, though that is because most of you seem to grab a taxi to take you to Pattaya.

I took the bus(Roong Reuang coach) from Ekkamai to Pattaya. Near the top of the bus ticket is printed; "Show this ticket at Flipper Lodge Hotel Pattaya Soi 8" 1 Mar - 15 Nov Discount 30%   16th Nov - 28 Feb Discount 20%

Has anyone ever used these? If someone wants mine, drop me a line.

I noticed that first a year or so ago. I guess this ist just a discount to the published rate. This you can get without any negotiation aswell. Just make your reservation well in advance.

Anyone know the rate at the Flipper for 2 weeks in May ?.

I've been quoted 800 at the Eastiny Place. I only paid 700 in November.

Hi Mark (Onmyway)

We have exchanged messages on the Pattayabargirls site ( I'm Soi8dave there !). I'm in town 15 May - 3 June.

Not sure whether to book the Eastiny Place or Flipper. Rooms at Flipper are better but the E.P. has a big pool.

Funny we are all talking about saving 100 baht - the price of a coke here in England !.

Maybe I will see you on 16 May.

Enjoy yourself !  Dave

P.S. Anyone else interested in a beer or 3 - send me a message !

Both Flipper lodge and Flipper house have new amd old wings.  The old wings go for about 700 a night and the new wings about 820.  Depends on length of stay and season and can be a little higher for short stays or high season.   Both have email and will return your requests fairly quickly.  As opposed to Eastiny, who never answers my emails.

Oh, I once asked about the discount offered on the bus ticket and was told that it was off the published rate.  ie, about 1000 - 1200 per night.  I have never been able to get them below 700 - 750 per night (low /high season) even with staying 5 weeks and threatening to go elsewhere.  I think that's about the low limit.

Cheers!

irishman,

My last two trips, I also never received an email answer from Eastiny Place.  However when I arrived they were expecting me and had a copy of an email confirming my reservation.  For some strange reason the emails they send me I can't receive, this was not a problem when I stayed with them before.  The lowest rate I've received from them were 650.

2 Trips last year in low season paid 770b for a seaview room. Prefer Flipper to Eastiny for room, restaurant and definitely pool. This year who knows?? Cheers, B-Man!
