Sunday Lunch at Valley View Restaurant

Recommended Posts

Good review Evil, I thoroughly recommend Valley View for its really high standard of food at reasonable prices, the onlydownside being that the distance from Patts makes frequent visits impossible. Well worth going occasionally though,

followed by a trip down the road to Ban Chang for .. er.. dessert.

Ha! Evil, I was there with a party of 6 before you got there, a little after 2pm, and we ate all the meat.

Yes, it was an excellent meal..and you're right about the vegetables...they are nicely cooked, not overcooked.

It was my second time there this month, and I'll try to go again.

Thankfully, another BM was driving and knew the way, but others in the group were going for the first time, and had a very hard time finding it.

There's not too many place that me and puang can agree to go eat but this place is one of them and she will always tuck into the falang menu...

The owner Steve is from Doncaster not far from where I'm from in the UK and his food does remind me on how its done back at home.

I guee he models the meals and portions on his food back in yorkshire.

I bumped into someone in Tescos yesterday……..He's one of those….mildly annoying, 'You don't want one of them you want one of these!' types. Well after going through my shopping and saying where I can get it all better and cheaper…..Saying what a waste of money my iPhone was…..He got onto Sunday lunches……..

Guess the one restaurant he was gushing about? I listened patiently……

"I go to a restaurant where I get 4 meats……4 yorkshires…..Tucked away…….No one knows about it…...etc'

He went there last Sunday…….and he pulls out a photo of his plateful. I expected to see Evil in the background. With a final flourish he shows a photo of the same desert Evil had. Thing is he couldn't remember the name of the restaurant.

"That's Valley View" I said.

"You know it?" he says, his bumptiousness melting away

"Of course" I lied. "Go there all the time"

"Oh"he says……. dumbstruck.

Thanks Evil!

Nah, he includes plenty meat. :D (I am a Lancs lad)

Isn't the Yorkshire style where the Yorkshire puds are served up with gravy as a separate course to fill you up before the meat comes?

That Sunday roast looks great.
