The terminal is new this year and if you have only been through the old one you'll be pleasantly surpised.

There is okay food, a bar, some shopping and the downstairs lounge area iare great big reclined chairs and huge monitors showing the boarding line.

It's gone from the absolute crappiest terminal I've ever been in, in a major airport to one of the nicer ones.

If you go the Trip report section and then go to the fifth page You will find a posting Tittled "Trip Report-Sept 2003".  Look in there. That may give you some answers to your questions.  Sorry but I don't know how to put the address to get you to that page with just a click. ::)

The shower facilities cost $3 for 30 minutes and they accept US dollars.  The shower room is small and they provide the towels and amenities.  I have used the shower facilities twice, and it was worth the price after a long flight.

Here is the info for Narita.

The Day Room is located close to gate 26-27 - walk to the far wall opposite the gate and walk down along the corridor and you will see a class inclosure with an automatic door entry. - The main area is set up with a seating / waiting area with a small area for your computer and a flight terminal on the main desk to check on your flight status.  Great way to spend your time, taking a shower and resting before the final leg of your flight to Thailand.

Narita showers for $3.00.  I’ve made 3 trips to LOS (6 stops at NRT) and have showered 5 times (I only had 30 minutes between flights on my trip from NRT to BKK in February).  I would gladly pay $10.00 for the shower because it makes the remainder of the trip much more bearable.  I only had 45 minutes between flights in November so I rushed through the shower and made my flight to BKK with a few minutes to spare.

I would recommend that you turn on the fan to max. as soon as you enter the shower room because it tends to get a little warm if you don’t.  After the shower there is a nice bar between gates 26 and 27 that has draft beer (Kirin), coffee and you can get food as well.

Well...I've got a 2 and 1/2 hour layover in NRT and you've just convinced me as to what I'll be doing with some of my time...A Nice HOT shower...

I saw the shower rooms last time through Narita but didn't use them. This time coming in from SFO it looks like I will have 3 hours between flights so I will give it a try. Has anyone tried the "Day rooms"? For $13 it might be better than sitting around the waiting room on those oh so comfortable seats! I was also happy to see that they take US money , last time I went to the exchange, spent a little and left the rest in the dresser at my hotel in Pattaya. Next year I will be able to use the United Airlines lounge (not the first class I'm too cheap for that!) but after flying 50,000 miles this year I can use the "star gold" lounge. Has anyone tried it and do they have showers?

Thanks

Jim

yes the gold star club has showers no cost. i contact UA red carpet club and they confrimed this . however they did not know what was furnished as far as soap, towels ,etc. they also have day rooms no charge for members. i will find out in january what is furnish. after 7 trips thru i just now asked and found out. elite status is nice when you have it.  if you fly businees or frist class on UA  you also have the same privelge. just show your ticket.  8) ;D
