Now following on from a post in another section. Thinking back.

The best service I ever received was actually on Kuwait Airlines prior to Sadams invasion.

Their in flight service was superb, even had booze. As it was a change flight service in Kuwat and arriving ealry they woul put on Breakfast.

Superb service even serving LOADS of bacon!. We we realy pampered loads of pots of tea fresh cooked eggs toast and bacon.

And it wanst a one off as we did the trip several times with Kuwait Air. The only real problem was the airport, probably the most boring in the world and second only to Romanias airport.

Yep Kuwait Airport was never really famed for being good fun, I only went there once and an hour felt like a week.

I never flew Kuwait Air though GP, in fact it'll probably be the only ME Airline I havn't been on, I even flew Mahan Air once (and only once). Apparently I read that Mahan still operate a Tristar and a 707 to this day, or up until very recently at least. There's a guy on youtube which has videos of some still flying older commercial planes.

I had a project in Kuwait and have also been bored to tears in the airport.

I don't have recollection of Kuwait Air being any good though, frankly the opposite, although mostly did the short hop to Bahrain from there.

Back in '99,(lived there for 5 months, which was 5 months too long!!!!) when you couldn't move in or around Kuwait Airport for fear of hitting a Patriot Missile launcher, it was a shit hole then and still is a shit hole now!!!

  • 3 weeks later...

I posted a reference to this elsewhere, but here is a better location.

Emirates have a partially hidden deal going on until 31st May for flights (Economy and Biz only) for flights originating in the UK. 5% reduction applied to the basic fare element (not taxes) when booking direct with the airlines website. Enter the code UKVOUCH in the "promotional code" box at the first stage of flight search, and reduction will be applied.
