In the history of the Pattaya go go scene, I believe there is no shortage of bars that were open only a few weeks, left alone a few months. But the above-named Shanghai was only open a day or two before it closed. Also, some bars were open, then closed, then re-opened but closed again quickly. If I remember right, Dream fell into that category.

Evil

:devil

But Shanghai is still operating as a beer bar, I also think that a mainly Aussie golf society operates out of there so not as complete a closure as some of the other names mentioned.☺

Submarine lasted a good 2-3 years. Probably longer than Mash, which shared the same ownership, but even Mash was probably open for a couple of years.

Of the more recent LK GGBs I would say that Funhouse, which lasted about 6 months, and Climax, in the same location, probably operated for a similar timeframe before being converted to an open bar, were the shortest lived.

I'm not sure how long some of the early unsuccessful LK GGBs like Google (?) And Gentlemens' Memories lasted, but they seemed to turnover fairly quickly.

Really? Shows how much i get to LK as not a fan. I just remember going in there the second night it opened with a friend. Next thing i heard about the place was he asked me if i remembered that place and said it had closed. Guess i lost track of the timeline

Agreed about both Mash and Submarine. They lasted into the years.

Certainly not the shortest lived but what a waste of money. This was the Climax on the corner of LK and Buakhao. As least it seems to be making a hell of a lot more money as a beer bar now so good decision. Same could be said about Zero.

What I can't get my head around is the apparent lack of interest by the owners or people opening these businesses. I remember going into Amazon (mentioned earlier) and I recall the girls being bored, the 2 farang managers sitting around totally uninterested. If it were my business and living on the line I'd be much more pro active in getting customers.

What happens? I mean someone throws several hundred thousand baht at doing the interior and exterior up, signage, stock and staff only to watch it all fall to pieces within a month?. Surely there is adequate caveat with the persons with whom they are dealing.

I'd really like to know why and how some GGB's never make it past the first month.

What about the small gogo that was attached to papayago, or whatever it's called, on soi Diana? Had a similar name. There one trip, gone the next.

Papa Go Go I think. Not sure how long it lasted but the premises still house a business, Papa Cocktails?, connected to Papagayo.
