Singapore Airlines joins the cheapie fold from UK

Recommended Posts

For years they refused to be drawn into the cheap flights sector but looking at prices recently SIA have now dropped to the level of most other airlines by offering cheap flights to Bangkok via Singapore Last time I looked they were around £460 down from their usual £600+ I suspect they are hoping that tourists might try a stopover in Singapore, but honestly there is nothing there to see other than getting chased around shopping malls by indians trying to sell suits. On my last trip I nearly had to deck dome indian who followed us for around 15 minutes and it took a policeman to stop him.

BA Bit the bullet and dropped their prices after getting into a war with Qantas after QF decided to drop their prices.

See how the mighty have fallen

Don't forget that Singapore has the Floors of Whores. Actually, other than the price of accommodation, food and booze it is an ok destination for 24 hours. They have a great tourist bus option that not only does the city but also includes Sentosa Island which is worth half a day. An evening in Geylang can also be entertaining.

I'd rsather spend the day in the Airport. I found sentosa Boring, the fecking cable car broke down when we were halfway across and I get scared of heights.

The only places I realy loved were the Newton Circus food stalls and the old original Bugis Street that the Dictator Lee Kuan Yu shut down.

I remember getting to Singapore in the late 60's with the band to do a gig and they refused us entry because of our long hair. WE just said fuck it and got back on the next plane and the Singapore agent had to pay !!
