I don't know which aircraft will be used on your route but on the B747 Combi used on LHR-BKK the best seats are:-

27 A,C,H & K can't be booked as they are exit seats and are issued at check in, you have to be physically fit to get one.

20 A,C,H & K right at the front but be warned this is were pax with infants are seated.

24 D &G, 26 D & G, 27 D & G are all bookable and have excellent legroom.

Worst seats are rows at the back 31, 32 & 33 because these are served meals last and your choice may have run out.

If you search this section there is a link to a seating plan posted by Cheshire Tom I think. Best of luck.

as for being served last in certain seats.

I have a way around that.

All you have to do is make a specialty meal request.

like....Kosher meals, low fat, vegetarian.

Then, before the flight even takes off they check that all specialty meals are onboard.

And people who ordered them get served their meals first.

At least, that's what happened to me on my last flight.

I hope this info helps.

Stevoh,

I ordered a low fat, low cholesterol meal from Cathay and it was shit. I was fed first but it was the most bland lump of shit I have ever eaten. Thanks for the reminder, i must change my Cathay profile.

Try http://www.frequentflyer.oag.com/airlines_...airline=Eva+Air

That is EVA's own site showing the lay out of their flights on 747 Combi.

Now a question, which are the best bookable seats in Deluxe if you want a window seat and no screaming kids.  Don't mind waiting for food but anyway I usually order specials as I cannot eat food with onions, garlic or chives in it.

I am still waiting for the go ahead from my solicitor so I can book my own way flight.  Gettign impatient now but at least  have a lot of packing and sorting still to finish off so must get back on with it.

I usually fly EVA Deluxe from Los Angeles to BKK.  After collecting enough miles on EVA I upgraded my last flight to Business Class.  Stay away from the first row of Business Class seats on the upper deck.  They are right up against the bulk head with no room to stretch your legs if your over 5'6".  Luckily after talking with one of their lovely stewardesses they were able to find someone who was willing to change seats with me.

RayW,

Probably 23-25 A or K.  Baby basinets are located in row 20 at the front bulkhead.  Or you can wear ampivox headphones together with your SARS mask and eye shades and just hope no-one takes you to be one of those Al-Queda prisoner guys (leave the orange shell suit at home).

What's the hold-up with your plans?  Did Chris Tarrant cancel the cheque, or what? :-/

Thanks Tom.  I was thinking those seats looked about the best.

Only hold up really is that we cannot find our marriage certificate which we need to get the Decree Nisi.  As we got married in Gibraltar way back in 1990 we have to get a certified copy from there now and that will take at least two weeks what with the post as they need a postal/money order sent to them and then the delay coming back.  Real bummer as all the financial haggling has been agreed so no other obstacles. My solicitor recommends I do not leave the UK till the petition and finacial settlement is all signed and sealed.

This is a real bummer as I was really determined to join you on that May 1st EVA flight from LHR.  Now it is looking more like second week in May.  [smiley=banghead.gif]

Pickfords have been and quoted me £1300 seafrieght and that incudes no furtniture just my Hi-Fi and speakers (irreplaceable to me), my PC and peripherals (but not the monitor), books, CD's, DVDs Software and various small personal effects total value no more than £5000 new replacement.  All other smaller items and immediate needed stuff like my golf clubs and laptop come with me on the flight.

Hope you will still be around when I hit town Tom.

I booked rows 21 outbound and 22 inbound for a couple of girlfriends, as it appears to has a 2:2 configuration as opposed to the 2:4:2 from 26 onwards.

They were suitably pleased.

I haven't had the pleasure of flying with them yet.
