Talk in the industry is that Monarch Airlines could collapse tomorrow. Some Qatar A320 have been positioned into UK to help with repatriation of

stranded passengers abroad.

Monarch, Air Berlin..etc The economy in Europe is not as strong as the MSM would have us believe.

A lot of Monarch's business was in Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia etc, and when terrorisim stopped people going, Monarch had to try and compete in the likes of Spain with the big booys of Ryan Air and Easyjet, who have huge profits and can absorb low prices if the market dictates. Not so Monarch.

 

I've flown them a couple of times, they were fine, though not much difference in the low cost airlines.

 

Always best to pay for things like flights, holidays etc by credit card, much easier to get the money back. I do that and then just pay it off straight away, so no interest. I've been reading about people who paid with a debit card having problems getting their cash back on a Tenerife forum i use. We fly there in 3 weeks, though boooked with Easyjet and airbnb. The prices have sky rocketed for flights and accomodation due to what's happened. People with accomodation, flight cancellled, or fight, accomodation cancelled, so panicing.
