Damn I wish they made a version of the Wildtrak or Aussie Ranger for import to the US.....4 cylinder diesel with about 150hp not made for the farm but perfect machine for light hauling and driving on shitty roads around town.

Maybe you can ship it one piece at a time to Texas?

The Sport Track is sold in the US. I see them from time to time. Not diesel though. Why would you want a Ford though? Least reliable car on the road

So why is the USA's best selling vehicle (Ford Fseries) the least reliable.

The diesel version is what I want and what you cannot get in the US.

I have a 2003 F-150 has over 250,000 miles and nothing more than replace COP and some vacuum lines and still runs great. This vehicle is a damn pulling machine not just driving around town vehicle.

The current F-150 with that flex fuel crap is shit....they imbedded the water pump into the engine requiring a tear down to replace it ....just an overall bad design.

Those little diesel engine vehicles are nice and very reliable...they basically took a tractor engine gave it a low gear transmission and made it a street car..... but I don't think they will meet EPA emssion standards in the US and by the time they mod them to do so it would probably be a shit vehicle.

That said some people could figure out a way to totally fuck up the best vehicle on the market with poor maintenance and insane driving habits so YMMV.

I drive a 2012 Wildtrac in Thailand that has the 2.2L Diesel. It has 203,000 Kms and the only thing we've replaced other than normal wear/tear at the regular 15,000 kms checkups has been an O2 sensor that Ford replaced under warranty. I've had similar experience in Texas with a 2005 F-350 Diesel which has 200,000 miles on it.

I'm hoping Ford offers a Diesel option in the upcoming Bronco. I'm guessing Ford will offer a Diesel in the new US Ranger if only to match Chevy and Dodge/Ram.

Modern diesels are actually pretty clean as far as pollution. Probably at least 30 percent more efficient as far as fuel economy. Unfortunately the greenies don't like diesels. My 3 liter Isuzu has loads of power and gets 35 miles per gallon. My wife's anemic little Ford Eco Sport gets about 25 miles per gallon. That's using E85. My Isuzu is bigger, heavier and has much more power.

It is a popular fleet brand. Cheaper and parts are easy to get. I have 400 vehicles at work that are on an F-350 frame and engine. The body converts it into a shuttle bus. If you add in the number of Ford F series vehicles that are RVs as well, it is easy to see why they are a best selling brand. But not for personal use.
