i will be staying at the dusit resort at the beginning of august and was unsure of how close the hotel was to the main nightlife. i know that walking street is further down south but was not sure if it was walking distance or if it was definitely a baht bus ride. just an approximate guess of how long to walk it and how long it takes on the baht bus. cheers.

23 minutes fast walking. And 25 minutes back :crying . Almost every morning at 10.xx...

And, the freelancers are out with their offers even at that time!

That's bloody fast walking ...... more than double most people's average walking speed.

My experience is the same as Monkeyman's. About an hour to Walking Street from the Dusit. A bit longer on the way back (depending on your alcohol consumption) as you dodge the katoeys and other freelances :eyecrazy

Alan,

I try to walk as fast as I can without running. Had to give up running to save my back and ended up with walking. Still run every now and then but need something softer than beach road to do it.

But, wouldn't recommend walking from North to Walking street and then straight into a 19C GoGo downing a 5C Heineken which will lead you into a 40C something.
