MAN-BKK September

Recommended Posts

Planning on a three week stay in Sept.

KLM want £700 which I think is a bit steep.

Are there any Cheshire Cats out there that can suggest a better deal ?

I use Qatar Airways a lot (great now they have back-seat monitors on planes) but their online-booking website doesn't seem to work at the moment.

Thanks.

Ste.

Ste,

Both Flights4Less.co.uk (part of Lastminute.com) and CheapestFlights.co.uk (part of the Co-op) have Qatar available during Sep for circa GBP460 incl taxes. The next price up for Qatar is plus GBP25. The dates used to search were 9-30 Sep.

Most of the major chains should be able to get similar prices with a little digging around.

Guest JAULS

I have just booked peak season Jan 2 to Jan 30 with Emirates from Manchester,

500 GBP with www.netflights.com which I think is good value at that time of year with a good airline,I imagine September would be the same or even cheaper,

Regards

Just booked with Qatar at e-bookers departing MAN Sep 15 for 3 weeks

at £397.68 total! Think I just lucked in there. Itinerary states "enhanced"

economy class - whatever that means. Anyone come across this before?

BongoBill,

Qatar's fleet of A330s is a mixture of some fitted out in a three class configuration (first, business and economy) and some fitted out in a two class configuration (business and economy). However, some of their routes, e.g. Manchester - Doha - Bangkok are scheduled for two classes but have a three class aircraft allocated to one or more of the flight segments. When I travelled in April I booked business class but was ticketed in first class on the Doha - Bangkok - Doha segments but with a business class service i.e. meals/baggage allowance/lounge access. It may be that your seat allocation on one or more segments is actually in the business class cabin with economy service. Qatar does not have a premium or enhanced economy product per se.

As an aside, when I received my itinerary it showed Qatar departing from Terminal 1 at Manchester - they go from Terminal 2 and it is a long walk between the two. :D Also, when you check-in at Manchester make sure to ask for an application form for their Frequent Flyer programme and get them to input your temporary membership number into their computer system. You may not use them again, but if you do the miles will come in useful at some point.

Regards,

Tom

Try Airline Network - not too far from you, but advertise nationwide anyway.

I've just booked Qatar Airways - MAN BKK return with them. Out 20 September, return 18 October at £325 plus £54.80 tax and Airline fees (£383.80 inclusive).

Anyhow enjoy the trip.
