Their A380 biz is the bees knees to me. 777s are just showing their age, last time I used one in Biz, Emirates, it was the old style side by side seating not herringbone. Noisy rattling aircraft too, really poor compared to A380.

You can buy duty free cigarettes on the way in and as mentioned in the Mid East if you transit there. The prices at UK airports, while obviously cheaper than UK shops, is somewhat more. The limit entering Thailand is 200 cigarettes. Be aware, it isn't like the UK where if you are caught with more they are simply taken off you. They will gleefully try and extort money from you, and for example, if you have 400, they will say you have been caught smuggling and pay 200x the fine. The checks entering Bangkok are casual, but there are a few opportunists mooching around in the baggage claim area, I have been asked myself. Cigarettes are still relatively cheap within Thailand, they went up recently but I couldn't tell you the prices.

Now now, if you will crush in the back you get what you deserve. My flight was very nice and the tinted windows gave a very nice atmosphere on boarding.

The main reason was perhaps to reduce leasing cost or improve on the airlines overall efficiency or get rid of an old design aircraft! Your original contention was the A380 must be 'unreliable' and you even claimed they were scrapping it! Perhaps United will buy it to lower the average age of their fleet! .
