Yes of course, and the other way around too. The only ever problem I had was when both were out and it transpired to be a physically damaged line down the street. They hang down all over like vines! My neighbour got fed up and had a seperate line just for the ADSL put in. Not sure if there is a telephone utility he isn't utilizing. Tom's Maxnet down south seems better than mine in Pattaya (claimed 3M/0.5), I never see download speeds that good.

And likely I will too... as said a 3 day closure coming so last chance before we go to the mattresses.

I thought the mechanics of the pump wouldn't let it happen. There was a station near where I worked in Saudi where this was going on... and petrol was pretty cheap. Easier just to avoid that station!

I think the weather is on the turn. We had a breezy day or two and the evenings seem cooler. Normally indicates the start of the cold season, as Thais call it, great weather for European farangs and a time when my electric bills are less. Apparently it is quite cool up north now, 17 deg daytime in Chiangrai.

I will probably go to Lake Mapbrachan, it is near to where I live and I prefer not to take on the driving! The nicest I ever spent was out in Na Jomtiem. As far as you can go down Jomtiem beach, where the fishing boats are, there is an estuary and some good seafood restaurants.

What the hell is wrong with you man (great map by the way), even the map link you just supplied shows The Sheraton down by the sea and a LONG way from Phratamnak Rd, stop being dopey. It is between the Pattaya Public Park and the Royal Cliff Garden, out there on the point. Where are you talking about? Find the Sheraton on your own map! You can stroll there from Bali Hai pier and not go anywhere near Phratumnak Rd. I have done it, although the hill is a windbreaker.... I wouldn't at night though.

And that phrase speaks volumes for the challenges of a restaurant in Pattaya. So many, really, couldn't give a damn. With the cooler evenings we get now I expect it would be pleasant place for a guy to chill out. Have you considered (or perhaps already implemented) the idea of something free for the freelancers on their arrival? A snack, or a little gift, or maybe 1st drink half price? (or a more flippant suggestion, free condoms )

I pay about B750/month for the 3MB/0.5 choice. Prices go up with the speed options. That of course is not the speed you get, just the advertised speed you share. It can be snail speed on a Saturday night. Best available, well I am not in a position to compare, it beats my previous GPRS, and it sounds like it beats TOT. But best of a bad bunch.... It is useless for Skype...

My TT&T MAxnet has been pretty reliable. It's certainly not fast, but depite the rain outside it is still there. I live on the darkside. I have heard TOT disparaged many a time, particularly wrt to customer relations. This place needs a good injection of competition.

I sometimes feel it is better to just stick to the places you know.. so many restaurants in town are poor, pretending they represent some region. Hit one last night after watching the Bond film, little Italian place on 2nd Rd. I just had a 'pasta pang'. They brought my pasta 10 minutes after my entree, when I mentioned this they told me Penne was not pasta!

After a couple of dry days the rain is back.. but it is just an afternoon thing. It doesn't seem to stop these idiots walking about town shirtless. Always fun when Pattaya Klang turns into Pattaya Klong.

Do you mean Cathay Pacific ? If so they have been around for donkeys years and have a very good reputation. Via Hong Kong so extra travelling time, but probably no more than via the Middle East. Known for good service only the oriental ladies can provide. Hong Kong a large efficient airport... good shopping.

I used Mr Toom to the airport in October. The driver found the house and was slightly early. No problems, 1000 baht. On my return I have been using the airport taxi, after reading a lot of posts here putting down the service of the 2 Mr Ts! I also felt I could not guarrantee my arrival time, and hunting for someone in the hawking crowds with bleary eyes was always a worry. I thought it was only 200 baht more. But beware, on my arrival the lady would not tell me a fixed price to Pattaya... she now says 'have to ask driver'. She has likely been paid off. This is LOS! Haggled down from 1500 to 1400....but with the 50 baht surcharge and tolls on top this is too much of a differnce. Back to Mr Toom.

It's not even a restaurant, just an open air place about 1km down Soi Siam CC, from Suk, left side, pass the 2 mosques and it is just after the subsequent 7-11 on the left. Little sign in German, Fleishmaster it says. No menu, it is what is available on the day. It is next door to a singing girl and karaoke place and before a Thai noodle place, a pond at the rear. As it is not far from where I live I sometimes visit when I need some unhealthy fried and over salty food. But I do enjoy his goulash...with chips which always amuses him.
