Why not book the same flight through Gazelle travel, as I did recently. http://www.gazelletravel.co.uk/ Cheque in the post works for them, easy to deal with.! China airlines is a good option, I like NOT having to go to the Middle East. The early morning arrival is great if you want to travel on to Pattaya directly. Not so great if you are staying in Bangkok as likely you will get to the hotel too early to get in your room. I don't like hanging around a lobby with my suitcase for a few hours Plus they have had their accident lately so will be extra careful!

No, likely he will be giving it or is holding on to it more than he would like. If there is a specialist in town, he would without doubt be working at the Bangkok Pattaya. Likely all the big hospitals have a resident urologist. You obviously aren't happy with the PIH one.

Miaooooow....

They cancelled it as there was a fatwah issued against the designer and MD of the company.

Touche.....they probably invented the idea.

Pattaya Britsh Pub microwaves pies....what the f***
jacko replied to yzguy's topic in Restaurants and food
Wrong, in the UK buy your pie straight from the bakers, just cooked. That is my first point of call when I get back there... Greenhalgh's or Green's for a pie and a pastie....yum. Then off to Wetherspoons for a pint of Guinness. Pub food is what it is, in the UK and Pattaya, something quick and easy. Rarely very good, -
Non apology accepted! ....

Girls, girls, too many girls.
jacko replied to PattayaPete's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
So it's next to a famous BJ bar.... I thought that was in Soi Post Office. -
Slightly off topic and perhaps a gratuitous slam but I am always amused how these trading experts find it more lucrative to write books than spend their time trading.

LOL.... yeah it does kinda look like they couldn't find any 'farm fresh' girls and loaded up from the livestock! Still, they were all younger than me and hiding little! Cheap beer (in bottles) goes a long way with me! Later, I tried another blast from the past, I think it is called Top Girls (hah) well up Soi 14 WS. All drinks are 150 baht (well they were on the 'farang' pricelist I got...), continuous seedy shows, ballooons and darts style, dingy and filled with Asians nursing a coke for 2 hours the night I was there. Even the nerve to come round with a scrounging bucket.....truly, truly dire.

Girls, girls, too many girls.

They probably got fed up of standing around on the beach road getting wet and having their hair blown all over the place. It has been raining daily for a week now. I am pleased things are working out for this bar..... I don't see myself paying any 1000 baht barfines in the near future. -
My opinion goes along with Sybarite I am sorry to say. I was in there a few days back. The shows seem to be performed a little listlessly, and I suspect little new has been introduced in a while. I like the way all the girls slide down onto the stage via the fireman's pole......(opportunity for the wags here). This place was excellent when it first came to Pattaya, of course they had to adapt to the local crowd, dumb it down and show more skin!

I am a bit nostalgic about this place, I was a regular around a decade ago... or maybe longer. Hadn't been for a while, so popped in last night..... Usual collection of pole veterans, some perhaps from my ancient visits. But a friendly lot. What I did like was the happy hour prices.... Bottle of beer, 50 baht, seemed to include all domestic brands. Soft drink can 35 baht. Draught beer was 35 baht... The happy from ran to 10pm.....from 8pm I guess. Good place to start the evening in AC comfort, before moving on to prettier girls and 120 baht beers. My beer was good and cold, and I liked the seperated section at the back for those who needed a nicotine fix.......and rock and roll music. No, I have no affiliation.... I just had a good couple of hours.......

For that price, even a long weekend would be worth it!

How about just using up some BA (or BM) airmiles to get to London. Always plenty of availability.
-
After all that time and planning.... they didn't make it big enough!!!! When does T6 start? The explanation wrt why the BKK/SYD/SIN flights surely could be applied to other long-haul destinations. Accepted the USA being different, they could probably re-route cancelled passengers to alternate BA-USA flights. But BA-India (eg) could be transferred to Air India in T3? I always saw the BA-SYD/SIN route as major earners for BA. Perhaps they feel all of those passengers are ex-London and will not be requiring domestic or European transfers. It really is no way to treat say a 1st Class passenger Glasgow-Sydney, packing him in a bus for a long drive and having the aggravation of terminal changes. I saw a BA top man on TV recently lamenting how the opening day of T5 was 'the worst weekend of my life', although I hazard it was worse for the long haul passengers travelling coach with 2 or 3 children who had the misfortune to be treated as unpaid guinnea pigs. Interesting to talk to someone who works there at the dreaded LHR.
-
Well thanks Vegaheart... always great to get feedback from someone 'on the ground'.... Are there any plans to replace the bus service with something more 21st century. Being herded and bussed around like sheep was always an annoyance at LHR? Plus 2 hour transfer times BA-BA is really quite hopeless. Why are BA flights to BKK/SYD/SIN moving to T3 rather than T5? So is it an airport or a bus terminal?

I have always respected Owen's opinions, but my practical experience has differred. I had a forex trading account recommended to me, and I saw statements for the previous 12 months showing healthy profits. So I decided it was a high risk 'gamble' and I opened an account, using money I could 'afford to lose'. The way my account works does not match the way Owen describes. They make a put or call, and I either lose or profit for each trade. They trade 5-10 times per month....if there are more gains than losses that month, I am ahead....minus charges. For example on a $10,000 account, a trade either loses or gains $500 (on $US/€ movements). Losses and gains are limited, only a part of my account is risked. If it gains 6 times, loses four that month, I am ahead $1000 minus charges, about $500. If they lose 10 times that month, I am down $5500. I have had an account for 8 months, profits each month, healthy some months. I do not do the trading myself, I have someone who has experience and a track record who does that. I am withdrawing money now to consolidate profits. I am presently 'losing' money on fixed term deposits in the UK that give interest rates below inflation! It might be fun to 'do it yourself'... but while I acknowledge I am in a high risk environment, I don't mess about with forex and loaded weapons myself.

Manchester Airport July Major Airline Figures
jacko replied to Brown1950's topic in Airline Discussion
I think it shows the Mancunians chase the best price.... being Ethiad lately. -
Open one yourself when you get here. Manage your UK accounts over the internet. They employ halfwits in banks in the UK... and anything outside the normal sphere is poorly handled.
-
Off subject, but only '$75 (£42) in taxes and booking fees'. Boy do we get gouged in the UK...

I think the 'cup' is like the old table number..... she would need to have the cashier zero or clear any bill against that cup, possibly the system keeps account now that there should be 2 bills in the returned cup. I think these modern systems work well and keep the staff in check...the only downside might be a slower processing time....a good place brings the drinks while you wait on the bill to be printed up! Also when it comes to check bin time, your total is there and you can get the cash ready. The old format of a wad of bills going back to the cashier, and she returns with some obscure total was open to abuse.

I have been in all the above quite recently, and similarly evaluation. . . . Beach Club, I had stayed away for a while as I didn't like the pushy '20 baht or I hardly move and keep my knees tight as a ducks bum' approach. But that pressure seems to have gone, girls are fun, service polite... enjoyed it a lot. Mistys... great layout and plenty to watch, pretty good girl attitude, but the smoke and overly loud music make it hard to stay long. Peppermint....same same as always.... well run and an untouched formula. Good service, some real nice girls Club Boesche... this place has lost it's edge, used to be the 'in' spot, but now nothing special. Some reasonable lookers and the entertainment can be good. The toughs hanging around put me on edge, nicotine addicts can do so upstairs. New Living Dolls. Good atmosphere and reasonable prices. A bit smokey. Hootys... it's all on the night, had a couple of fun companions and naughtiness. The stage girls did look listless and there were few customers. Place needs a makeover. Baby Dolls....naughty but fun, definately not good looking girls but then they aren't paid to display their faces. Worth a try if you are keen to explore. Windmill Club...very similar to Baby Dolls, previously same management. Place is small but well patronised by the sniff and lick club, good service. As you wander back from the Windmill, towards Walking street, the touts will assault you. A few of the places on the left, with 'Baby' in the name seem to cater for the Orientals, but some real pretty girls, hard to get their attention apart from waving a fistful of 'pan baht' notes, to get their eyes off the fascinating ceiling. On the right side, the touts have to work real hard, these places have changed little over the years, except in name. They are all coasting until the high season.

Wow, £29 for a room near LHR......last time I stayed at some shithole about 5km away, room the size of an American wardrobe! That was £85 when Noah was a lad...no pub nearby so a fortune in the bar! Absolutely shitty overpriced bus (Hopper service)...dragging my case on and off and walking miles. So bad I got a £15 taxi next day. How about the parking for the car for the weeks you are away?
