As a Californian I am I would imagine a similar response in polls of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

I was prescribed it for panic attacks years ago and found the side affects to not be worth it. I have been off the stuff for years and agree with TF. It really affected my libido and aggravated my heartburn problem. I agree about Thailand also, so much so I am going to give up this rat race and go there and really live life. We far too often only exist and fail to live life. That is what causes our problems. Pharmaceuticals don't resolve the causes. They just mask the symptoms.

There is a Boots in the Royal Garden Plaza also.

seeker I did a Google search for Jomtien hotel http://www.asiarooms.com/thailand/pattaya/...CFUeU7Qod-UiaFw That should get you started btw, I have stayed at the RGI and found their mattresses to be very hard, thin and uncomfortable. The room is big with separate bedroom but I would not stay there again.

the good thing about annuities in California is that they must be backed by 100 percent of the assets (according to my financial planner). But from what Owen is saying is that true? AIG, for instance, that part of their business (according to my financial planner) is sound. You may be able to keep up with inflation with annuities but there is no growth. My IRA company (Fidelity) just sent me an advertisement for a 5 year fixed annuity at only 3.12% Here are what they say are the benefits: Guaranteed rate of return from 3 to 10 years Principle preservation Tax deferral Rollover opportunity of IRA or 401K assets It doesn't seem like much but CD rates are so low that it isn't any better than having a savings account Talk to insurance companies if interested. My divorce attorney told me never to do one. By Owen's explanation I understand more about it.

How to get the FLB rate for LK Group Hotels

Thank you, Jacko! I want to also add, if you post a topic, you have to be able to stand up to what comes and not be a baby about it. Criticism comes with the territory here. It was not personal until the OP made it personal. Before that it was just discussion and grist for the mill.

My point has nothing to do with they are all out to get you. Example: I have one checking account where both of my children have power of attorney over that account. The purpose of the account is so that they can wire money I move into that account to my Thai account or so I can put money in the account for my daughter's educational and health care needs as required. I trust my children but it would be wrong to give them exposure to all my liquid assets. If something were to befall me, the accounts are in the name of the living trust and my children are trustees. I do not believe my children would rob me but even the bank (and my children and ex-wife) agree with this principle. It is not by accident that among the papers they signed were warnings of criminal prosecution if they were to withdraw some or all of the money in this account other than for some purpose authorized by me. The account will have minimum balance in it until I move money into it for some specific purpose. Prudence. Personal responsibility. Personal control of my business. Minimal reliance on others to take care of personal business. It is not about mine, mine, mine as the OP wrote. Now as to the OP, perhaps the moto-bike is a small thing to the OP. Once a person posts a topic it no longer belongs to that person and the comments and advice given are shared with the larer board community. Personally, I do not care what he does or doesn't do with his personal business. It is wrong, however, to expect that board members will not give their opinions, pro or con, on any subject posted here. To tell people to calm down for sharing their experience, wisdom or advice is naive at best. It is self-centered to believe a topic you start is just about you. It opens up doors others may wish to explore and share ideas about.

I did not say it is a problem for me, but you only read what you want to read. Then you flame people for sharing good advice. But of course you are a know-it-all with thousands of posts, sharing your great accumulated wisdom for many years. You are headed for a disasterous fall at some point with a Thai lady. Some people just have to learn the hard way.

Would you care to tell us oh Owen oracle which side you are betting on?

Good to know you are so rich that the loss of a motorbike is small potatoes. For some, that could be month's or half a year's living expenses if not more. What is a drop in the bucket to you could be a disaster for another. There is a principle involved in protecting one's assets. You chose not to follow it. My point was rational and good advice for anyone, anywhere. The assets I have accumulated in my lifetime are mine. They should be managed by me. The property I buy with it should be in my name. Most guys here would say the way you handled the situation was incorrect. Live and learn. If my future Thai gf or wife and I make income that is community property, so to speak, that is a different issue. That is half hers. If she is a rich Thai woman and we marry, I do not expect her to give me her money. If you buy something in another's name it should be a gift. You were in a rush to do something and put yourself in a situation most of us would rather not be in. I do hope it works out for you in this and every other male/female issue in your life but shit happens. I was married 30 years and got blind-sided. Fortunately I got half of our assets. I am wiser about protecting my future now. Like I said, live and learn but certainly don't tell people with wisdom gained from experience to calm down. ?
-
If I were to get married again in the States, I would get a prenuptial agreement. What is mine is mine and what is hers is hers. That principle will follow me everywhere.
-
Not to thread fuck this to death but that is the kind of thing I hope to avoid over there when I move. The extreme of this situation, of course, is buying a house in a Thai girl's name. We foreigners, imho, should keep our finances, ownerships and personal business in our own names whenever possible, especially if we cannot afford to do otherwise.

Tat gt my her, wut ju mene?

isn't that the truth Even in foreign airports. The spelling may be correct but the usage is wrong or the wrong word is used. Always good for an inward chuckle.

Ovaries! Kind of like fois gras after she copulates for the world record! Nobody, only you mentioned a misspelling.

His English was fine. He only missed a French word. I wonder how many native English speaking BMs would have missed that one?

Building A Better Pattaya Beer Garden
midlifecrisis replied to PattayaPete's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
I am sorry but this place is dead when it should be hopping. I posted this on another thread: OK my opinion. I went in there this past Feb. Pete was not in at the times I was so I was unable to re-introduce myself from FLB 2007. OK, I am 58. During the day, I am not usually looking for any tail. I save that for my nights out. If I wanted short time fun, there is Soi 6, Lolitas, Soi Honey, Soapies, etc. During the day, this bar is just a bar to get a brewski like many others. A woman would have to be DDG for me to take her ST at any daytime beer bar. I also don't drink much until the heat of the day subsides so I am not inebriated enough to make questionable choices in the looks department. I enjoyed the bar at sunset the most. I met a lady who works for a hotel and she likes to go there after work. She is "respectable" and enjoyed having me to escort her after to walking street venues she might not otherewise ever get to see. I had a lady friend in AC that wanted to see the Fields Ave clubs and was happy I took her. Same deal. Some moral judgement on their part. Honestly, I think the market for ST daytime freelancers is low. This bar would be a great place to get ladies with regular jobs to come to after work to meet guys for an evening of fun. I know many non-pro ladies ask me about Walking Street and wish they could see the gogos with an escort. I have taken a few. They have a blast and feel safe. PBG is a great location for the right business plan. My idea may be debated but I do not think the current plan is hitting the mark. I think if I could go there and find the right lady for an evening out, I would tend to go there at the start of my evening to try and hook up with someone. It would be more of a challenge than a guaranteed bargirl. I don't think I will be there much in the daytime any more. Sunset is golden there. It is a great spot to come on the water and stay until WS really gets hopping. I would make it a place where frelancers (pro and amature, so to speak) are welcome at the end of the work day. Serve great meals for dinner. Make it a place local ladies and farang men want to go to, meet, eat, drink, pair up and then go to WS. -
