  1. I had thought about living over there but knowing my weaknesses I think I was wise not to.
  2. Season four of The Americans and I am sick of the Paige storyline.
  3. CBS News reported that phone batteries are too small to pose a threat. So why cameras? Apparently a plane had a passenger by the window detonate his laptop. It put a hole in the fuselage and killed the bomber. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/laptops-banned-carry-ons-mideast-north-africa-flights-laptop-bombing-mogadishu/ The video was not working for me but scroll down for a photo of the hole in the fuselage.
  4. Just in on CBS News that it is laptop batteries that are replaced with bombs.
  5. There is an issue that involves the fact that Gulf nation airlines are getting subsidies from their governments. http://www.openandfairskies.com/subsidies/ "Delta doesn’t stand alone. United and American Airlines also claim that Gulf carriers, specifically Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways, don’t have to worry about being profitable because oil-rich rulers with deep pockets own them. This allows the Gulf three to flood the market with excess capacity that drives down fares and puts competitors out of business. Delta’s reportedly cancelled its Atlanta-Dubai route for this reason. Th
  6. True. Unless they have intelligence that the threat is limited to employees of certain airlines.
  7. Excellent question due to fire issues. With thievery, I am unlikely to bring much more than my phone and a point and shoot camera.
  8. For me, because of numerous sports related injuries from my youth, I find it excruciating to fly anything other than business class. I need to be able to lie flat as I can't sit for as long as I wish I could. As I prefer the cooler high season and that business class seats are fewer, I am limited to certain airlines who arrive around noon Bangkok time and price, I book much farther in advance. It is basically 6 months in advance. There is no one size fits all. You do what works for you.
  9. I hope he also discusses media controlling narrative.
  10. It's like chasing the stock market. The airlines I use, I can get a decent price but it means that I have to pay a fee to cancel.
  11. Mobile Muslims They can only come in if strapped to a gurney.
  12. I would ask the question, is it still safe to put these things in checked luggage? Also, why not cellphones as well? Cell phones have been used to trigger bombs. Computers can be automated to run routines independent of operators. So, I am unclear as to the exact threat. Certainly they must have some intelligence that led to the advisory.
  13. http://thehill.com/policy/transportation/324846-feds-temporarily-ban-electronics-on-certain-flights-to-us "U.S. government officials have temporarily banned most electronics on certain flights into and out of the country, according to Jordan’s national air carrier. Royal Jordanian posted on Twitter Monday that “following instructions from the concerned U.S. departments, we kindly inform our dearest passengers departing to and arriving from the United States that carrying any electronic or electrical device on board the flight cabins is strictly prohibited.” The ban does not apply to
  14. Back when I did not appreciate Robert Downey Jr.
  15. Agree with Butch on Legion. I am finding the TV shows based on comic books do not work as well as movies based on that genre. I just finished season 3 of The Americans. The season of belief systems and a rat fink daughter. I am less pleased with the show than I was but will start season 4 this week.
  16. Elephant Company by Vicki Constantine Croke 2014 The story of Brit Billy Williams who went to Burma in 1920 to work in the teak trade and operated behind Japanese lines in WWII as part of Force 136. The part of the world we all love, elephants, war and escape into India to avoid capture or death. A fun read,
  17. Chuck Berry died. He was a big influence on my first favorite band. Here's the Beatles covering Berry live:
