You're right! There must be a pole holding it vertical. A toothpick wouldn't suffice.

That is a very flattering photo of you lounging at the pool. You look very tanned but horny. Always great photos.

Not all but certainly the chain versions are sub par, of which there are far too many and dominate. You all have some of those over there. However, we have restaurants - grills and BBQ places, often family owned - that do a great job. Our coastal states are not really renowned for it though. Places like Kansas City are meccas for BBQ and quality beef. Oddly, the two of the best steaks I have had were in West Berlin and Beefeaters in Pattaya. I had to ignore my German cousins smothering their fries with mayonaise though. My next trip I will try Jim's though but I am hoping as I said f

Your dad sounded a lot like my dad. As to the topic, I have always been disappointed with burgers in Thailand and my tastes are fairly simple, bun, decent meat, onions, ketchup and sometimes bacon. I often find odd sauces and tasteless beef which explains the odd sauces.

wah blocked in the USA Love the Beatles though! I found this version though.

I apologize speed reading with bad eyesight is problematic. Frustrating too. I actually only see the computer screen with one eye. Long story involving cataract surgery. I am farsighted in the repaired eye and very nearsighted in the other. Thanks for the recommendation! It is now on my list. I do find the premise intriguing. I just returned this morning from a wedding and I am back into The Americans tonight!!!

The mention of Sutherland reminds me that he is in Designated Survivor" Can anyone recommend?

Deutschland '83 shows the fear the eastern bloc had of Reagan. It is more from the intelligence agency and police perspective and not the embedded mole but I did not see all of that series. The last time I heard EST mentioned was by John Candy's character Ox in Stripes. Does it still exist? I think it morphed into other things. I will be on season three when season five starts. Catching up slowly.

Finished season one of The Americans and it is definitely worth watching season two. I grew up during the Cold War and yet I find myself rooting for the Soviets. Good writing, good tension and fine acting. It really shows the underlying nastiness of the war.

I was speaking specifically about the bar/7-11 switch but one thing I have noticed over the years from comments here and meeting bar owners and other ex-pats over there, there are often business decisions made that don't make the kind of sense we have come to expect in the USA or other western countries. Here, a lot of thought and number crunching goes on before destroying a business that is successful and replacing it with another. Things are pretty sophisticated in that regard here. That makes it more likely that the replacement will be more successful than the original business. An

I hate to see things like that happen but is the property owner making more money because of the change?

They should move to the ninth district!

Agreed but often when people are released from prison, their wages get garnished and someday when they are eligible for SSI, they may get a fraction of what they are entitled to. Or They go to court and get a sympathetic judge to stop the government from treating them so unfairly.

And hopefully they were prosecuted, convicted and required to pay restitution. I have zero sympathy for people like that.

How do they have my DNA? I do not recall being fingerprinted in any way by them. The DMV (state) I believe has a thumb print and the army has my fingerprints on file. Falsifying the SSA forms is perjury so, if I were a perjurer and a thief of government funds, I doubt i would worry much about mail fraud.

Netflix does not have it. I will try Amazon later.

I have not found Legion compelling, so if you are about where I was after episode three I would expect that you will be about where I am at after episode four. Lucky Man is new to me and will look for it.

I have now watched four episodes of Legion and may abandon it.

Season two is much different than season one but also great.

So what happened? I thought he survived a vote of confidence. Was it his players? He had them play championship ball last year. Were there too many egos? Was it ownership? Is there a plan for the future as it is likely they will be relegated. What is the new or interim manager like?
