No, it's not suspicious. it's a link to the streaming music they have on their pages. Here's a line of code from the Pattaya today home page

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'm in Thailand, on Maxnet, and can get to the Pattaya Today site using the DNS server I posted above. So what ISP are you guys with the problem using?
-
I used the link in the OP and got the Pattaya Today newspaper. I am also in Thailand and using IE 7. As Big Brian said, try doing a "hard" refresh [Ctrl+F5] If you know about IP configurations and DNS servers try using this one: 202.69.137.137 It's the one I'm using.

How do you download youtube videos?
michaelday replied to Obsession's topic in Technical problems or questions.
If you're using IE click on Tools, then Internet Options. In the Browsing History section click the Settings button then click the View Files button. Sort by file size and get the largest at the top and you should find what you are looking for. This method works for the majority of "Tube" websites, but be aware that the Temporary Internet Files folder has a size limit and old files are deleted to make way for new ones, so if you leave it too long your movie may disappear. -

If you've already watched a video on youtube then it's already on your hard drive. You'll find it in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Just copy it from there to a location of your choice and, as mykl says, play it with VLC. -
almost New luxury FAN apartment for rent
michaelday replied to farangatang's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Yes I read it. Here's a link to the room I am currently occupying. Mosaik Standard Studio It is quoted as being aproximately 30sq/m and therefore should be more cluttered than the one in this thread, but clearly it isn't. my guess would be that the 34 sq/m includes the kitchen and the bathroom. Did YOU bother to look at the photo? -

michaelday replied to jackiethai's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Aras, From where I am is a two to three minute walk along the Soi to South Pattaya Rd where Baht Buses run all day and all night. The walk to the beach/Walking St is about 15 minutes at a lazy stroll. -

Looks cluttered to me. Furniture clustered round the bed? TV on top of the wardrobe? Suggests the room is rather small. It would be interesting to see a photo taken from the other side of the bed. -

Non Smoking Rooms You might want to look at this for comparison: Mosaik Standard Studio I'm currently staying in one of these Standard Studios and, comparing it to the photos of Rooms 401 and 402 at 24/7, I think it is better quality, and at 8,900 Baht per month, not a lot more expensive. Things to consider are: 8,900 is the Low Season rate, but I'm getting it because I booked for 6 months over High Season. The price includes twice weekly housekeeping. In room Wi-Fi is 1000 Baht per month extra, it's free at 24/7 Electric is 5.5 Baht/Unit and my last m -
Heads Up! There's construction work on Soi 10 which is likely to have an effect (noise) on the three hotels mentioned in the topic title. Don't know what they're building. or how long it's going to take. Looks like they're currently doing the ground works. The photo was taken from the steps of the Eastiny Minimart.

No reply to my question. Anyone tried this place yet? Cheers Michael

My biggest problem with English Breakfasts in Patts is the mushrooms. Those Asian Straw Mushrooms are great in Asian dishes but just plain wrong in an English breakfast. I've had a decent breakfast, that doesn't come with mushrooms, a few times at the Elephant and Castle, just south of Soi 8 on the west side of second road. Cheers Michael

Druid, I followed the link you provided and saw no mention of any other Greek dishes being available. You would think that Paul(authentic Greek name, that) would have taken the opportunity to advertise his menu, assuming, of course, that the opportunity was presented. Anyway, you can post comments on the article so I have asked if there are any more Greek dishes available. Don't know if Paul is reading the comments, though. Interestingly, the person who posted a comment before me claims that Paul's is not the first Greek restaurant in Pattaya and that he was doing Souvlakia at Jim

Just Souvlaki? Nothing else? Hardly deserves the title of Greek Food if that's all they've got. But thanks for the info anyway. Cheers Michael

Just got back from my Christmas/New Year trip. Flew with Etihad from Manchester. Have to say that I wasn't all that impressed. There were problems with entertainment system from Abu Dhabi to Bangkok and Bangkok to Abu Dhabi. Films wouldn't play properly, despite several reboots of the system. In addition the drinks/meals service was slow, only one girl to a trolley, and the cabin staff were indifferent at best and miserable/surly at worst. Also agree with other posters about the smoke in Abu Dhabi, and the toilets were a disgrace. I'd pay the £50 quid extra for a direct flight anyday.

800 Baht from Pattaya to the Airport - OK?
michaelday replied to StandIn's topic in Meeting - Cost sharing
I used to use these 800 Bht services, but then a couple of trips ago the taxi didn't show at the appointed time. A call to the number on the card the operator gave me got a response of "He's on his way, don't worry". About half an hour later the taxi still hadn't turned up, but I get the same response when I called to find out waht was going. Eventually after, two more calls, I finally got told that the taxi had been in an accident and wasn't comeing, this could have been just anexcuse. The operator said I could get a refund for the depposit if I brought the receipt round, but by then ther
