I'm looking to strategically plan my next trip to catch the last 3 days of Songkran 2008 then relax the rest of the time. I need to know when Songkran day hits though.... Can anyone help me?

I can't believe no one has mentioned Queen Victoria's Jasmine Suite I know that it's not a 4 - 5 star hotel, but it sure looks like a damn fine room to stay in. Plus, it's right on Soi 6!

I'm not sure how long they stay open but the street vendor that's in front of 7-11 (just north of Soi 6 on 2nd rd) has some kick ass duck soup!

So, I'm still staying there right now and all I have to say is that Vic is one hell of a hotel operator! I'll give a proper review when I get home (sober).

I didn't know about any larger rooms either. But, it's only 50 baht...no biggie.

Stayed there last time. My only gripe about the Jasmine is having to walk a little bit to get on a baht bus going north. No big deal really.
