Brooklyn Diner on Soi BuaKhao - UPDATED Jan. 12, 2015
SunnyValentine replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
Sorry, but any sauce or gravy with Wiener Schnitzel is considered a sacrilege, and would have landed you in prison during the days of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy! -
Brooklyn Diner on Soi BuaKhao - UPDATED Jan. 12, 2015
SunnyValentine replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
Ok, being from Vienna myself, I can confirm the classic Wiener Schnitzel is veal, not pork. But: Even in Vienna you will have a hard time finding some original veal Wiener Schnitzel. Apart from a few traditional eateries and some Gault-Milleau approved temples you will get pork pretty much everywhere when you order a Wiener Schnitzel. We had a bit of trouble with our chefs understanding of the preparation but I think that this issue is resolved by now. We now also offer fried potatoes or traditional potato salad to go with it, and of course French fries. If not, well, then I will eith -

Update: We have just now decided to speed up the renovation process. To make this possible, Brooklyn Diner will stay closed until Friday, May 23rd. We will take delivery and take-away orders from then on. Our builder estimates that we can reopen in full before the end of the month! -

Attention! From today, we will start the renovation and redecoration of the premise! We will completely rebuild the restaurant room, make some improvements in the kitchen, and redo the front and the signage! In the next (probably about 3) weeks we will be open daily only from 2pm to 3 AM, for deliveries and take-always only! We will have to close the kitchen completely for 2 or 3 days during this process, I will announce this period a day or two in advance! We will also use this time to work on recipes and routines with the chefs and service, and redo our menu. Once we reopen fully, we wil -

Pattaya Addicts Website
SunnyValentine replied to Desmond Jones's topic in Technical problems or questions.
Desmond, I experienced the same issue with Chrome on the Addicts Page a few days ago. The pages loaded, but in a much rawer, less formatted way. Today the issue is gone. Hmmm. There is something wrong with the Internet. PS: Kudos for "The Israelites"! -

We had some issues with the Pizza oven and decided to repair the chimney and replace some parts in order to avoid further issues. We expect the Pizza oven to be fully functional on Tuesday. Please bear with us in the mean time by ordering Hamburgers, Noodles, Steaks or other items from our extensive Menu. -

Thanks for the comments guys, both good and bad. This is my business, and I am happy to say I believe we are doing a (mostly) good job. The fries issue has been brought to my attention already, I thought it was taken care of, but obviously not, so I will have another chat with my chefs. About the bacon: I will investigate into options here, maybe we can offer both options as choice. Stay tuned! As times are tough these days, and we try to not compromise on quality of our food, it is difficult to maintain the best available prices. For example, I was not happy with the quality of the -

They voided the February parliamentary elections. Today and next week end are Senate. Not voided yet. But as the Pattaya music festival is happening now the authorities have made a bit of an, eh, deal, I guess. Supermarkets are pretty strict about not selling Alcohol. -
I am currently staying in a rented house in Thappraya Soi 5, passing the restaurant daily. To me it seems it is doing reasonable business. I eat there once in a while and am usually impressed with the quality of the services and food.

Punjabi Tadka, 2nd Road near Marine Plaza
SunnyValentine replied to MM's topic in Restaurants and food
Been there quite a few times, and mostly enjoyed their food. It is not absolutely consistent though, means I have had some not so great moments there too, but most of the time spot on. And the price is right. One of my favorite Indian Places for sure.- 14 replies

day visa runs Pattaya to whereever?
SunnyValentine replied to fttrading09's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
They tried to implement this several Years ago, but it turned out that practically all immigration officers were mathematically challenged in such a way that nobody seemed to get it right, so it was abandoned. -
Songthaew Fares in Pattaya

Gabor, I understand that you speak Russian, right? So this might be for you: Explain our Russian Tourist friends how the Baht Bus operates, how much the charge is for a bus ride, how much one should offer for a taxi ride, and that it is seen by all others as both stupid and impolite to charter a full Baht bus instead of waiting for the next empty one. Guess most Western expats and board members would see this your hobby as more rewarding than your bickering about punters whose spending habits differ from yours. -
I just got 2.7% p.A. for a government Bond investment over 3 Month, tax Free. They also offer 2.8% for 6 Month. At Kasikorn Bank. Best I found so far for terms of less than a Year if you factor in the tax (usually 15%)

Welcome back! -
The last trip with Tiger from Bangkok to Clark and back I had a decent sized photo bag (close to 10 kg) plus a small laptop bag with extra iPad and adapters, close to 4 kg. No issues.
-
Well, let's be realistic here. You get what you pay for. Problem in the specific case of Bangkok to Clark is there are no regular carriers servicing this route. I don't care so much and would rather pay the premium for a non-budget carrier, but that would mean Manila and an often terrible taxi trip.

Currently staying in Subic, this is my 4th trip to the Phillipines this Year, all with Tiger, all on time and no issues.

"Walking Street" Soon To be a MEMORY ?
SunnyValentine replied to dentdude's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I remember that back in 2005 the rumor of the Walking Street Seaside Businesses being illegal and to be torn down creeped up again. The authorities published a plan showing a street on stilts to be built about 20 Meters from the shore, with Walkways and all. Next were findings that, with very few exceptions, the buildings on WS were legit, and some were maybe extending it a little bit too much into the Sea. FLB for instance I remember that the stage area, the last few meters, were built without permission, as were some of the Fish Restaurants extensions on stilts. So, in order to tear do -
Allow me to break in. At BBT Thailand / BlueBarTender, we are suppliers for the XZone POS system, where we just a few days ago have introduced the Members Cards and automated discounts feature. I thought I made it clear to the cashier staff that the discounts (both for the white cards and the gold cards, which we yet have to produce, please Nev, have your Web site guy contact me per Email!) can be applied to any bill no matter when, as long as it is not marked as PAID in the POS system. So, customers can show their card and claim the discount for the full bill at a later stage, just bef

Sorry to break in here, but: As some might know, I sell and maintain the POS Computerized Billing System that most Bars in Pattaya use: BlueBarTender. XZone is our customer now for three Years. When the bar was sold to Nev, We were called in for some maintenance. We were specifically asked not to change any prices apart from Drought Beer. And I had a look at older records available to me recently: The reported 150 Baht prices for San Mig and Heineken were set earlier this Year by the old owners. After having taken the bar over, Nev did not raise any prices.
