Perhaps the Irish bars want people to come in ?

Safe to eat from the street carts

Just one word of caution. If you get the pork on a stick. it usually comes with peppers and pineapple. The pineapple next to the pepper, absorbs the spice and can catch out the unwarry. I throw that end piece away. -
Easy mistake mate. I wonder who is filling the plane BKK-DXB ? It must be them Ausies flying away from the cold Aus' winter weather to get tickets for the Ashes. I know from experience that tha DXB-LHR leg gets filled with Indians and Pakistanis, it is a popular route for them to Europe.

I'm on it- ta ! Oh is that BKK_LHR-BKK ?
-
Thanks for the links jacko, I will give them a try. Spoke to Si today, she saw on TV that the baht is too strong and the Government are worried about it's affect on tourism and exports. Perhaps, things may get better on the Xchg rates.

Just checked EK for a BKK-LHR-BKK April 01 -Jun 23 £635. A bit better, but I need anothe £100 off before pushing the boat out. I don't want to start getting a visa, until the flight is sorted. The problem is, getting a non airline quote from BKK. All the discount web sights are ex LHR.

They seem pretty firm Ex LOS to the UK too. Could it be the old- less passengers, higher prices syndrome ?

I first tried a Thai based Travex ? sight for a flight ex BKK-LHR. Last month the cheapest direct flight was £1,0018. Have tried several airlines EK/TG/BR and others. From memory Jet Air has a super economy about £500+ via Bombay. I really would prefer a direct flight for Si. I had a missed call on my phone last night from a mate at Air Canada, He keeping an ear out for any deals. I'll give him a call later. Happy new year to you too gerald

They quote sterling after prices first shown in Baht. Taxes £222 , fuel charge over £100- ouch !

Etihad, BKK-LHR-BKK April rtrn Jul £810.90. I tried varying the return to June but still the same price on their website.

Checked my' hot picks' for last night. My 3 selections were 15-33-37. The three middle numbers were 15-33-36- Darn ! 1 number out for £450 I will give friday night a go. With the £ so low, it is better value for money.

Thanks Tom, I am finishing off the turkey carcase for Herbert today. I will give that wishbone a good pull. Talking of Turkeys, Brentford won Boxing day. Our Turkey is safer, because we got rid of the Butcher. He was useless, so we sent him to Scotland to be second in command for the Scotland team. Hopefully he specialises in Haggis - good luck with him.

Get you Tom. I am only interested in BKK-LHR-BKK for Si right now. I know you recomended Jet Air for her, but last time she came via CMB on UL. The travel agent mentioned the 3 hour layover in CMB, but didn't mention the 7 hour one there, on the way to LHR- at night ! I did say I would try for a direct flight if pos'. Money being as tight as a gnat's chuff at the mo' doesn't help. A £450 return fare will do nicely- the visa is 65 quid now, plus a 450bht charge to get into the Visa Office in BKK. I 'aint made of money you know. Anyone in LOS trying for a LHR-BKK-LHR ticket, please let me know what prices you are getting for April/ May- return July. Ta very much.

You're right Tom. So many of todays 'victims' have a murky past. Best kept out of sight of the children. I still recon Thai and Eva will have some comparable offers to Air Asia next year.

Err, I was being a tad sarcastic there. Not only are they not a race. Israel has no official border either. Only 1948 partition and 1967 ceasefire lines. The place was created by wars. The Brit's agreed to create it for the Jews, if they could help pull America into WW11. A Mr Balfour was responible. Actually, Nazi Germany in the 30's, had a lot of dealing with the zionists to help create their own state. Wonderfull thing history. No wonder it takes such a low priority in modern education.

Front page last nights London Evening Standard- AIRLINES CUT TICKET PRICES TO '80's LEVEL. It was BA and VS LHR- JFK, DEL, CCU, BOM, so not much use here. Could be the start though. Something has to be reduced- price or flights, let's hope its the former.

Put it this way Jacko. The Nazis wanted their own people to live in their own land, with the exclusion of others. A non intergrated society. Israel is nothing like that.
-
Why then, when I try for a BKK-LHR-BKK ticket with a Thai travel agent, for that time, it is over 59,000+ bht ?
-
Your mind is warped dear boy. Too much Katoeh talk around here.

If any of you when younger, did any travelling around the world and would like to get in touch with people from way back- Google 'Lost Amigos' It is free and world wide. Chose the country you were in, to search. It goes way back to the 70's. You can download pic's and stuff. If you were on Kibbutz, it is the place to search- thousands of members from there. NNH

Watched the Lois Feroux programe about private security firms in S. Africa. Outskirts of J'Burg, the cops were inaffective to gangs taking over buildings and collecting the rent for themselves. Farmers paying to protect their property and cattle. I couldn't help watching and thinking how London is going in the same direction. In 20 years we could have the same problems. Somalian pirates on the Thames ? My daughters S.African housemates, recon that the 2010 World Cup, may have to be elsewhere, due to the lack of facilities to host it. Shame, they are getting married there that year and we are invited to the wedding.

Just to say, you wont find the Victoria line at Heathrow, only the Piccadilly line. just get on that and change to Victoria later.

What an anorak this boy is !

If a train ever runs between LHR and STN it will be overground, but with economics as they are, a bus around the M25 will be the connection for some time. That journey, will be in the hands of the Gods.

You could be right, I was talking about flights to BKK in general next year. With half a dozen, or so direct ex LHR, plus all the conex thru Europe and the Middle East, the route may well get to over capacity. Two out of three Eva passengers are BKK bound. To cater for TPE alone they could cut 2 flights and still have enough seats. As the monkey said as he shit behind the door " It remains to be seen "
