I, and two Thais, did BKK-BOM-LHR-BOM-BKK in April last year with Jet. Outbound from BKK we arrived an hour late in BOM and were taken on a separate bus from the plane to the boarding gate for the next leg. Can't remember going through security, but I'm sure we did. If we had been a bit later the cabin crew told me that if there were several passengers doing the same journey, they would have held the second flight. On the return leg we were on time into BOM and the security process was about an hour and a half, but there were no probs getting to the last leg. All baggage arrived as it should

Yep, I reinstalled AdBlock Plus last night. Haven't posted until now so let's see what happens when I click on "Add Reply". Well, it worked just fine! -

I wonder if AdBlock Plus has changed in some way recently. I have had similar issues with Thaivisa.com also. Now I use AdBlock Plus on these sites but will have to disable it when posting. Also when forwarding an email I hit the "Forward" button and a blank screen appears which makes me think that I am about to forward NOTHING. Maybe the answer is to disable AdBlock Plus on my email temporarily. This all then begs the question "Is there another good Ad blocking tool?". Oh Boy! I just disabled AdBlock Plus to post this reply, hit the "Submit" button and was taken to the Forum homepage again -

Thanks to Joekicker and Jacko. I just clicked on a link on the left hand side "Intoxicated Russian tourist beaten uncon..." and it took me to another page where the same link was under "Hot News". I then clicked on that link again and the page just refreshed and the link didn't work. I AM running AdBlock Plus so maybe that has something to do with my problem. Can Jacko or somebody please advise me how I might correct the problem. Step by step please as I'm not familiar with the AdBlock program(me) (if you're English!). Now I just had another problem. On posting this reply I clicked on "Add R -
Whenever I click on a link under "Latest News" on the left hand side in the Pattaya Daily News website nothing happens. It just refreshes to the same page. Similarly, when I click on a link to Pattaya Daily News from Pattayatalk, I get that same home page and cannot get any further. Can anybody advise me what's wrong, and how I might correct it. I have no problems clicking on links on any other websites. I am running Firefox.

Well, unfortunately the saga continues. The day after I picked it up it had lost it's charge again and I took it back. No problems, they said the electrician would look at it and call me. The next day I went and spoke to the electrician and he told me he had replaced the two batteries inside the shaver. He had put the two faulty ones in the plastic bag along with the shaver. They were AA sized batteries with a small point at both ends. I assume they were the re-chargeable type. Before leaving I switched the shaver on and it appeared fully charged. Surprisingly I wasn't asked for any more money

Thanks to Bigleg. I took the shaver to Amorn downstairs at Tukcom yesterday. Today they called me and said they could repair it....cost 500 baht. I said to go ahead. Picked it up today at 5pm. Turns out it was the plug that was faulty. They supplied a new plug and fitted it to the original wire. Works fine now. Perhaps a little over the top on price for a plug, but beats the hell out of buying a new shaver. I priced similar up yesterday at Central...over 5,000 baht. Overall I'm pleased with the service I got, and also pleased with this forum and the members who contribute positively.

OK Mr.Smug. You offered me a lift when I was quite happy to catch a baht bus. Then you start with your sarcy remarks. This is the second time you've tried to character assassinate me. The last time I bit my lip. This time I can't hold back. Just don't offer me a fucking lift again, OK! Some people have their head stuck so far up their own arse they can't see when their remarks are snide and hurtful. Be very careful. This old dog has a bite.

Thanks for your help Regyai.

My Braun electric shaver has just developed a fault. It isn't recharging when I plug it into the mains and the recharge light isn't illuminating. Does anybody know where I might get it repaired in Pattaya before I go and buy a new one?

Do you have experience of this place and do they do a direct conversion rather than GBP-THB-USD? Is the rate decent, and is there a commission?
-
Thanks, Alexist. I think I'll change a small amount of sterling here and take sterling cash and cards to Vietnam. Will take a look at your suggested exchange place on LK Metro.
-
Yeah, I've already got a pre-approved visa, but have to pay for the stamp at Immigration.
-
I DO have UK Debit card and Thai Credit card so maybe using ATMs is the way to go, but I believe that Immigration only accept USD or VND as payment for the 25 USD visa fee. Would there be an ATM BEFORE Immigration at HCM airport? BTW, I've just asked this on a Vietnam forum.

I'm going to Vietnam for 10 days just before Songkran. Whilst I have baht in my Thai bank account, I am also holding sterling and I want to use the sterling for spending money on my trip. I'm guessing that if I go to a bank they will want to change my sterling to baht and then change the baht to USD. Any advice on how to change sterling to USD most efficiently costwise appreciated. I'm talking of about 400GBP. Failing any cost effective way to convert, would it be feasible to take sterling and use it in Vietnam, including payment of visa fee at Saigon airport?

Four front teeth crowns
4niceight replied to Obsession's topic in Doctors, Dentists, Clinics and Hospitals
Two years ago I had a 4 tooth bridge top front done at Pattaya International Hospital. I seem to remember that the cost was around 25,000 baht. I could have had cheaper and I could have had dearer as I had to choose the percentage of gold used. -
I can't understand why people are saying that the connection times are bad with Emirates. If you do a search on their website using search by "Schedule" rather than "Price" there are flights offered with good connections, both from Manchester and Newcastle, to and from BKK. Possibly not the cheapest options but worth looking at. I've booked this way many times with good connections at the cheapest price. If not offered at a reasonable price for the date selected, try the next date. Some travel agencies are lazy and don't give you options. Also sites like Expedia, Ebookers and Travelocity may n

I don't have the option to switch off when I close the lid. The options are...Do nothing, Stand By or Hibernate. I'm set to hibernate. I'm using the touchpad, not a USB mouse. From your replies, guys, there seems to be no real answer, but thanks for the input. It's not a big deal but would have been nice to know if there was a quick fix.

Last night I was too lazy to switch off my laptop fully, so I just closed the lid. This morning I find that I cannot scroll so I have to use the right hand sidebar and click up and down. It sometimes also happens when I've been watching a video from say RedTube or YouPorn. When I go to another website directly afterwards, I find I have lost the ability to scroll. My solution is to shut down the laptop and restart. That cures it, but does anybody know why this happens, and is there a simple quick way to fix the problem?

Whats the lowest fare you've ever paid to Los ?
4niceight replied to Chivas's topic in Airline Discussion
I bought a ticket from KL to BKK April 2007 for less than 1000 baht. Oh! did you mean from Farangland? Edit....Written when mao. Forgive the sarcasm. -
Not true about Jet. Search schedules. No long layovers in Mumbai. Reasonable service.

Jomtien Beach Condominium. Excellent management. Peaceful. On Beach Road hence direct access to baht buses. Two swimming pools. 2 Fitness centres. Many shops and restaurants. Decent community. You should be able to find a condo in the front blocks (S1 and S2) for under 10,000 a month.
