  1. There are bound to be more and more mergers as national and other airlines feel a cold wind blowing around their ankles. Let's see if two turkeys can make an eagle.
  2. This has been an open secret for quite a while, as Bob has been reluctant to advertise the business for sale until now. It's a great location and somebody could do well there, I hope somebody bites soon so that Bob can attend to his family obligations with one less worry on his mind.
  3. Glad you consider it as important as I do, and you're most welcome when you're next in town. I think many bars make the mistake of thinking that loud, thumping music attracts customers, and they often compete by turning up the volume. In my case - and I think this applies to many older blokes - the opposite is true. I wouldn't have minded when I was a young blade, but now, with my hearing impaired anyway through firing off too many guns, I visit bars to have meaningful conversation with a backdrop of music I like, or to chat to girls who are worth chatting to with or without barfining as a mot
  4. Blowed if I know, for reasons of self-preservation and good sense I don't sample the girls, but mates have described at least two of them as 'a bloody good f**k'. We have a rather nice rest-room for in-house diners, so suck it and see perhaps ..
  5. She's nice alright, she's Fah. Here's the website: www.chanpen-pattaya.com
  6. Couldn't make it to wish you all the best yesterday Alf. Hope all goes well and that you'll be back soon after the valve repair.
  7. You're more than welcome, look forward to it.
  8. I'm Fah's partner in this bar and restaurant, which is doing ok but is by nature a quieter kind of place to relax in prior to/after doing nearby WS or the Soi Buakhouw area. We've had to revise our barfine/ladydrink policy to the conventional model though, as we found we can't rely on the ladies living upstairs coming down to entertain guests, and are now employing BGs. We serve good food - especially a full English breakfast with prime back bacon and Cumberland sausage - play music that people seem to like and never allow the volume to conflict with easy conversation. We also have Nintendo Wi
  9. Thanks for the good wishes chaps. The opening party is tonight, Saturday 27th - food and music from 8 pm.
  10. Yes, you're right, and I've only just found this out myself - duh! It appears that bars will not be allowed to do their stuff on the 28th. So we're having the opening party on Saturday 27th, no problem for us and we hope many will attend. Ripe1: Chanpen (= full moon) is Fah's proper first name. Some of the girls are 2 or 3 to a room, some prefer to live alone as they have a farang boyfriend etc. etc. I would think most are quite willing to be enticed into the ST room though.
  11. Fah, the popular former entertainment manager of 3Som bar and guesthouse in Soi LK Metro, is opening a new bar and guesthouse named Chanpen in the market square, Soi Buakouw, this Sunday, 28th February. There will be an opening party with food and live music on Sunday evening, and it would be great to have a good attendance. There will be plenty of girls too, as the 11 rooms on the premises are currently let to 22 freelancers who will use the bar and the accompanying, very attractive short-term encounter room as a base for their .. er .. activities. No barfines are payable in Chanpen bar
  12. Only too happy to oblige. Went to Cafe Uno for the first time with my Thai girlfriend and her adult daughter last Sunday. They had never had a proper English lunch before, and were sceptical until the meals arrived. Ended up with 3 clean plates, they loved it and so did I - top marks. Good food, well prepared and plenty of it at a decent price. I've previously had the occasional Sunday roast at the Queen Vic - no complaints there either - but Cafe Uno is well worth the trip out to the Darkside. Needless to say I had to pass on a visit to Dao Bar afterwards .. And Craig's a good bloke, looks a

  15. I suspect a lot of businesses have been holding on by their fingertips in the hope that this year's high season would be 'back to normal'. It hasn't as far as I can tell, despite all the 'lower-end' guesthouses and hotel rooms reportedly being full over Xmas. I reckon there will be a flood of failed businesses for sale or rent during the next 2-3 months.
  16. Sorry I missed LK Adam, the girls look great. Back for a nice cold beer or two on the 25th.
  17. Lucky buggers. Hell, my grammar school certainly never laid on a 1-month trip to the Far East when I were a lad. It was a boy's grammar school, and the nearest we ever got to a degrading sex scene was when the girls from the female equivalent came over to do the make-up for the annual school play. We thought ourselves lucky if we were able to cop a handful without getting a slap.
  18. Essex school girl says, "Mummy, I know where babies come from!" Mum replies, "Where's that then sweetie?" Girl says, "Mummy & Daddy take their clothes off & Daddy's thingy sort of sticks out & Mummy puts it in her mouth & sucks it & that's how u get babies!" Shaking her head, Mum says, "Oh darling that's so sweet, but that's not how we get babies, that's how we get flowers, jewellery, clothes & and chocolates!!" Recession Beater! Wife says to husband - 'if you cycle to work we could get rid of the 2nd car!' Husband replies, 'if you take it up the arse
  19. Hi chaps, won't be able to make that as I'm going back to Europe in late Oct., back late November - but see you then.
  20. Hope nobody minds me bumping this, look forward to seeing as many BMs as can make it - the party's tomorrow!!
  21. Cheers Andy I will, wish you were here mate. L'enfer c'est les autres - pas nous.
  22. Seems like a good opportunity to let everyone know that I'm holding my 61st birthday party at 3som on Wednesday 7th October. There will be live Thai and farang music in equal measure, the mandatory baby porker plus farang food. If you're in town, come and help me celebrate in good style with Dan, Fah and the girls.
