  1. While your point on English usage is correct, there are quite a few chaps who bring their 'girlfriends' or wives to Patts to enjoy threesomes with Thai girls. I don't know if that floats Gabor's boat or not - his business. But you can't automatically assume she's just a friend.
  2. Husband to wife: I think we should try changing positions tonight. Wife: Ok, you do the ironing and I'll just sit on the sofa watching the TV and farting.
  3. Sorry, can't help. Initially I thought this was a thread about bargirls ..
  4. Thanks for the info Mick, that looks like a good deal for the comfort provided. Will you be here again next weekend? Didn't see you much last time unfortunately.
  5. Well done Pete, I'll be paying you a visit shortly as I always enjoy PBG - and my other half is looking forward to trying the Issan dishes - I think that's a good move on your part.
  6. Welcome back mate, you've certainly been through the mill and I hope you're fighting fit again.
  7. Love your humour and perceptive eye, keep it coming
  8. Lux lice lat inbutita int Looks like Latin but it ain't
  9. I never saw this still youngish man harm a fly, he used to hang around CB and the bar next door, never hussled anybody but was a sorry sight. He gave rise to much mirth in some, disgust or pity in others, but I always felt very sorry that he had obviously been mercilessly used and uncared-for. Clearly a lot of scum in the past had persuaded him that it was a good idea to have him submit to having their names tattooed all over his face for a few Baht and a drink or two at a time - hope they're proud of themselves, he was quite obviously uneducated and a simpleton, which surely should place him off-limits for any decent, civilised person. What killed this poor little bugger, anybody know? Rest in peace, wherever you have gone now - this life was not kind to you.
  10. Good for you mate, by all means bring your girl to Patts, hope you and particularly she have a great time. Life really isn't all about sizing women up for f*ck potential, like so much meat, and as far as I'm concerned, if a girl is obviously with a guy she's off-limits anyway (even if only a barfine, one-night stand) - that's a matter of common courtesy between men, and face-to-face it's one you disregard at your peril, which is why I for one didn't appreciate the inappropriate and plain offensive 3-hole question.
  11. Dear oh dear, there's always one, isn't there ..
  12. I've heard that he was hit with a 2-year tax liability of which he was previously unaware, and that his cook left suddenly after a disagreement, but I can't say if that is correct. I do know that he was not the world's best at taking advice from long-term expats or Thais though. Sorry he's gone, nice enough chap - this place can be very unforgiving if you get your business model wrong and are not very adaptable.
  13. I've also tried the place since reading the OP, and can confirm it deserves support. Really tasty food and enormous helpings, it's a struggle for 2 to finish that set meal. Definitely going back there, highly recommended.
  14. There was a Thai lady called Pong Who didn't work anywhere long ChicaBoom, Teazers Confuses the geezers Where are you now,Wassatpong?
  15. Interesting, we all know this is a common circumvention of the rules to gain long-term residence without visa runs, journeys home to renew an 'O' visa etc. If this crack-down bites, I wonder what benefits the authorities in question expect to gain for the Thai economy and culture though. It seems to me that apart from a possible wish to rid Thailand of farang they consider undesirable (by what definition?), there is nothing much to be said for this. It will certainly reduce the income and employment potential of more-or-less dodgy language schools, it will discourage potential expats (who are all by definition contributors to the Thai economy in the way of sales taxes), or induce long-stayers to leave, by making the visa process more difficult or impossible, and it will benefit the ridiculous and unnecessary (but highly profitable to some .. exactly whom?) visa-run industry. Have I missed something that might justify this crackdown, except that rules is rules?
  16. Can't miss that, well done guys, I'll be there and drink the health of my absent brother (in crime) Bobby.
  17. There is nothing mysogynistic about extreme scepticism when it comes to BGs or indeed "good girls" - it's just common sense to be wary of their motives and understand the basic circumstances. They are simply people seeking to better their financial position by trading on their assets. Whatever the relative numbers of BGs and punters/tourists/coach parties etc. might actually be on paper (and we can only guess), it never ceases to amaze me as a Patts resident how many girls have not just one but two or more sponsors sending money. My girlfriend is something of a mother-figure to a large number of BGs/masseuses and also "good" girls, they confide in her and I get to hear things that still make me boggle. If you do the rounds of the bars as a resident throughout the year, you also gain the girls' confidence, become something of a friend and hear about their problems with Thai boyfriends, sponsors etc., mainly because they want an honest farang point of view on their situation. Sometimes because they really like some chap and want him to take them away from the bar, but mostly to work out their best tactics. Of course it's only a very small proportion of total girl numbers, but directly or indirectly I'm aware of the situation of at least one hundred BGs etc., often not very attractive or young, and almost without exception there is a Thai husband or at least "boyfriend" (leech) in the background, and in an amazing number of cases one or more sponsors who think they are in the foreground, sometimes providing very serious amounts of money to support a girl or her supposed "business plan", "training course" etc. If this small statistical sample is typical across the board, you just have to laugh at the amazing gullibility of so many farang. I always say there are no stupid girls in Pattaya, only stupid farang. Good luck to the former if they can pull it off. I sometimes ask BGs I have got to know whether they have any feelings of "love" or affection for their sponsors. The usual response is a snort of derision and a look that says: You know better than that! As always there are exceptions, some girls really are "different", but they're rare in my experience.
  18. That girl must have fallen hard, made me wince watching it. Horseplay like that is totally out of order when you've had a few, hope the lass is alright.
  19. Add Pattaya Beer Garden to the list, though its ambience is better in the evening than at lunchtime.
  20. Will try to make it tonight Martin, but a gammy foot is giving me trouble. Happy birthday to Pin in case I can't get there.
  21. Well for a start, from Jomtien you can see if there are any decent Russian birds on the beach on Koh Larn.
  22. I have a 20x - 60x zoom telescope made by Jiehle complete with tripod and carrying bag, in excellent condition. Cost me 9500 Baht new, I don't use it much and would part with it for 4000 or near offer. PM me if you'd like to see it.
  23. The encyclopaedia of Italian war heros Yeah I know, it's ancient .. I'm 62, you want new jokes already?
  24. I can recommend a very good book called "Glue" to BMs - I couldn't put it down.
  25. Right on, nobody who's posted is busting a gut or losing his rag over these little irritations. We all know it's their country blah, blah ... Having said that, I've met a small number of long-term expats who can't take a lighthearted view any more, if they ever could, and are noticeably angry about just about everything. They should leave before the cumulative effect of the Thai way of life destroys their mental balance.
