For Dr Mick ... Thai Smile to Khon Kaen from July 2012?
MrDK replied to CheshireTom's topic in Airline Discussion
My reference was to OP -
I am all in favor of the 10 baht ride and use it all the time. Best deal around. To put things in perspective, however, I could pay 20 baht (for two) to go to Jomtien after waiting 10 minutes for a baht but to completely fill up. A ride that will take me close or somewhat close to my destination and walk the rest of the way. I could also pay 100 baht to have a ride for just me and my honey for the night. Instant departure and right to my door. If I spend 2500 baht partying and 2500 baht for BF/LT the extra 80 baht constitute 1.6% of the nights expenditure. Maybe walking to Jomt

I understood about 10 words of that. Thanks for posting -
Quite the accomplishment. The master and the authority about proper compensation calls me LDOP and Cheap Charlie all at the same time.

If she is that desparate, I bet I could pull a "better than Gabor" here. 900 baht and I buy the Krathong

I'm thinking about driving from the UK to Thailand

The best short-cut is through Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran. -
Areca is a fine hotel in most respect. They, however, have a reputation of allowing the reception staff to engage in "small talk" with various bar fines (hotel guests) concerning other guests that a punter may have signed in. I do not have any first hand account, but reliable 2nd hand. The do not allow young ladies at the age of 18 or 19 as guests. Not an issue for most. PBR (at least under previous management) has much better ethics and more liberal rules (within the law) and generally at better prices.

You are being presumptuous, but I will refrain from describing my attire (or lack thereof) as I am sitting in a chair typing this. If it is of any comfort I will have it thoroughly scrubbed by a Thai girl and I'll show you pictures of the event. Would you refrain from using a swing at Devils Den or the Vault for the same reason? If you had your own would you scrub it down between each and every event?
-
Would you ask the same question about a chair where a fat ass may have sat naked. If you are interested I will have it scrubbed down with more soap than you can imagine. I will even let you watch a Thai girl doing it or provide pictures. Happy? BTW the swing never saw any spooge.

Love Swing for Sale Email me for discrete transaction.

I know that not to be true. Perhaps true if only one or three joining. What, BTW, is wrong with something making a profit from creating a business. If you disagree, go set up your own charity bar crawl. If you do not like the 300 baht price don't sign up. If it looks like a good value go for it.

As said 6 people is hardly a full load, yet the cost is the same. Plus, what the hell is wrong with the organizers making a dime? What id only 3 members sign up should they deny boarding of the van until the balance is paid? For heavens sake it is US$10 for the trip with knowledgeable guide(s).

I have a full face helmet with full chin guard. While the helmet is a good and comfortable as the come, damn they indeed are a hassle. Saying that I'd never ride without it.

Even more the reason to inquire about engine size if the insurance is limited to 125cc. There may be other brands and style where this is the case.
-
Interesting. Loads of 125cc motor bikes, but note a few like the Yamaha Nouvo is 135cc. Some of them state engine size on the decals and other do not. If you have a tourist visa (not a visa waiver stamp) you can indeed get a Thai drivers license. I did. That said an international license is perfectly good and if you are only here for a week or two, why would you want to waste a day with the Thai government when you could go to Soi 6, get a Thai massage and enjoy a few beverages all in the same time. Unless it is tongue in cheek, why would you offer compensation for he

I have driven a motorbike for 6 months here and have been stopped only once. IT was on the motorway and I showed license and paper and was on my way in less than a minute. At the time the officer already had two Thais stopped neither of which were on their way as long as I could see in the rear view mirror. If you are legal, the police should be the least of your worries. Driving a motorbike carry risks as you are not well protected, but at least get a good helmet. Bringing a helmet from home that meets western standard should be considered. If you drive defensively and you are a dece

555.

Flew in to BKK last night and drove to Pattaya. All bone dry, except the drainage canals at the airport. The levels in the canals were about 5 feet below surface, but I think that is quite normal.

555. The Hilton Pattaya would qualify.

YES, but be aware that many non-US carriers award reduced millage credit for discount fares. So getting only 50% credit on miles flown is a real scenario. Try to book the same seat on Thai Airways as a United code-share and compare the prices. If booking United you should be given 100% millage credit.

I drive by RH about 4 times a week and whenever I see Alex or a known BM there I stop for a beer. Sad to say I have stopped 2 or 3 time in the past couple of months. If I owned the joint and had it for sale I'd spend as much time there as I could every day to show an up-swing in business before the sale. Regardless, a new owner has to make his own business. During the first few months after the sale many regulars will check out he bar and the new owner and perhaps he (she) can keep them coming, but YES the new owner has to start from scratch.

Well, some shouldn't be posting something that could be so detrimental to themselves.
