I do this. I also ask them which 7-11 is closest. I did walk into a tailor shop once (Indian) and ask where the slurpee machine was.

My pet peeve with Thai girls
mrlasvegas replied to lovedog100's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Why not learn some Thai? It is a beautiful language. And what a great opportunity if you live in Thailand. Although it seems not unusual for Westerners to not want to learn the local language. I can remember quite recently a trip to Costa Rica where a group of older Americans heard me speaking Spanish to the waitress in a small restaurant. When their turn came to order they called me over and had me translate their order for them as well as a few special requests.I asked them if it was their first visit to Costa Rica. No, they said, they owned a home in Costa Rica and had been there for 4 years -
BBQ Bob's Board Member Promotion for 2011!
mrlasvegas replied to bbqbob's topic in Restaurants and food
Stopped in at this place last week. Very good meal. The staff said Dale was upstairs, but we mentioned the discount and got it anyway. Pretty happy with everything. -
I worked with many beautiful Aussie women when I was teaching in SEA. All far more pleasant than American women will ever be. So maybe that IS the reason. I am more suprised that so many Americans are visiting LOS. With less than 15 percent of the population having a passport anyway, goes to show how bad the women of the USA are.

Will be coming by to give your restaurant a try next week. Looking forward to a great meal. -
I can sleep about 6 or 7 hours of a 11 hour flight from LAX to Taipei. From Taipei to BKK I am way too wound up. Usually listen to my Thai instructional cd's.

Mine too. First bar I ever went to where the mamasan wanted me to take her after the bar closed along with a waitress for a threesome. Gotta love it!

As someone who drives a commercial vehicle for a living (bus) currently, and trucks before that let me correct your misconception. You believe they have no regard for you. In a few cases possible, but in general it is the motorcyclists and bicyclists that are acting inappropriately and with no regard. Often they ride in a bus or truck's blind spot. Buses and big semi trucks have many blind spots. While you think you are being quite visible, from the drivers seat you come out of nowhere. If you can't clearly see the mirrors of the coach, they can't see you. Most commercial vehicles have bug eye

I wonder if this Crocker guy was the one operating the motorcycle? If you look at the photo of his license, he has a normal Class C drivers license. No endorsements to operate anything more than a personal car. So if it was him, he was operating the cycle without benefit of proper training, along with probably being intoxicated. Not good at all.

I use phrase books quite a bit. Anybody tried the Making Out series? I just ordered Making out in Thai.

I would put it in the $200 USD region. Many "spa's" around. Quite a few near Sahara hotel. Mostly Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese. If you are interested in Thai strippers (ha,ha) Glitter Gulch (downtown) has a few. I will be visiting your fine establishment in late Jan. sometime between 23-28. Will be glad to tell you everything you ever wanted to know about Vegas and then some. I have lived in LV for over 15 years.

Great. I will pm you about a bike ride on Wednesday 1/26.

I used to live in Mexico. I will be by to give a full evaluation on the 23rd of January. What the heck, something to do. -
Me too. I can see those who live there giving it a go. But for tourists? Isn't the whole idea to do something unique on your vacation? There are thousands of normal massage places here in Las Vegas, no need to fly 14 hours away for it.

Do you do these rides everyday?
-
I would enjoy riding with you as well. Will be in Pattaya Jan.24-27. How much is the bicycle rental for the ride?

Asiana Airlines, Buisness Class? Seattle-Angeles City

No action that I know of. Is a very nice hotel though. If you have a few miles in the frequent flier club, you could go there for free with a voucher from customer service. -
Unfortunately, California Wow is still double the price so Tony's may get my money after all, but what a lousy way to start. I joined California WOW on my last visit. I could not have been more displeased. Treadmills were very slow when working. The gym did not have a fitness pool. Nautilus equipment was outdated. The most entertaining part of my workout was watching a farang woman do some Muay Thai workout in the ring. She looked like the last time she put out her leg out was to trip someone in line at McDonald's. Yet she was kicking wildly as Jackie Chan. Very funny. I will have to bri

I actually like rugby. The problem is it would not televise well. And that seems to be mandatory for US sports. American football players did wear less padding in the past. But the lineman are getting bigger and bigger. Not enough pads one hit could send a player to the hospital or morgue.

Why US broadcasters even bought broadcast rights to the World Cup is a mystery to me. The Mexicans can watch on Univision all the soccer they want. Their was no need to tarnish US English language tv with a children's sport. I think soccer's biggest selling point is anybody can play. It is cheap to find an open field, make two goals and kick the ball around. Real football requires $1000 USD or more worth of equipment and extensive physical training. Anybody sober or not so sober can play soccer. As long as they can run they can play.

the joke he made was not to any type of "armed officer". It was most likely to an equally useless flight attendant. And them on a US carrier I will say what I want. Although I always strive to avoid giving a cent of my income to US airlines. And I am sure he will be back soon. Diplomatic staff have done far worse here and been readmitted. Just as our embassy idiots have sinned and returned. No harm, no foul.

Seems like typical US government over reaction. The joke he made was in poor taste, but still a joke. I tend to think maybe he got a bit of booze in him and made a poor decision. We are in debt to the country he represents, so no penalty will take place.
