  1. and just a few meters down the soi a new hotel has opened in the area where Lolita's is located. That time of the year and being a new place you should be able to get a good rate.
  2. I guess this is their response to United's double miles promotion. I'm still waiting for Cathay to run their 45K miles for a R/T freebie to Asia promotion again.
  3. I guess that I've been lucky as I've always been able to find a place. Probably because I don't limit myself to a small area. I've stayed as far south as Soi Yensabai, Soi 4 to the north and 3rd Rd to the east. All these places where within a 200 meter walk to the baht bus lines. I found a really nice place this past mid November on a walk up and it was one of the nicest places I've stayed in Pattaya and at the cheapest rate as I booked it for a month (12,000). The worst place I've ever stayed was the Pattaya Center on Soi 12 which I booked over the net on my very first trip.
  4. Maybe there are two Nirvanas, but the one I saw early this month looked like they where still under construction. It looked like it was nearing completion and is a nice looking condo near the View Tallys. It is called Nirvana Place and is being billed as Pattaya's 1st 5 star luxury Condo. The place you may be referring to could be another place.
  5. I also recommend that you go the walk in method. Things are slow at that time of the year and with new hotels opening every month in Pattaya you shouldn't have any trouble finding a good deal.

    Go Eagles !!!!

Your 100% correct there. Each play the offensive coordinator is sending in a play that he believes will work best against the defense. The defensive coordinator at the same time is trying to second guess what the offense will run and replacing players who can best stop that play.
  7. I had always used Thai Limo to get to Pattaya (either their bus when I arrived before noon or vehicle when I arrived late at night) until Feb 2004 when they raised their price from 1500 baht. Since then I have used khrongfa (5 times) and wouldn't go back to Thai Limo even if they charged the same amount as khrongfa (1200 baht). With Thai Limo I usually had to wait anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes before leaving the airport and some of their drivers where not that familiar with Pattaya if your where staying at a hotel that was off one of the main sois. My 5 trips with khrongfa the driver has been waiting for me in the arrival hall with my name even when my plane arrived 30 minutes early on one trip. They are based in Pattaya and know their way around the city.
  8. I just got back from Pattaya yesterday and when I walked by the place they had some temporary fencing up around some of the area.

True, but have any of them ever won an Olympic gold medal in track?
  10. If your worried about construction noise at night don't worry because they usually start around 8-9 in the morning. The construction noise around the Sandy should only be a problem if they have begun construction across the soi and are doing the pile driving, which to me is unbearable. If you do decide to stay elsewhere, why limit yourself to the Walking St area. As long as your closs to the baht bus routes your only talking about an extra 5 minutes to get there.
  11. Not necessarily true especially this promotion. If your a United Premier Executive you get double miles on your flights, with this promotion you would be getting triple which from your location would equal one free flight. If you paid $1,100 then the effective cost would only be $550 as you would be getting 2 flights. Beside this lower cost you would be sitting in Economy Plus instead of economy whic provides you an additional 5" of legroom. Another benefit of Premier Executive is they will move you into Business class when available without you having to use any of your miles, this happened to me on my last trip on the leg from Bangkok to Narita.

I understand a little of your game and my comment was intended to point out that your game doesn't have all your players going full speed the entire game. It has been stated that American football players aren't as well conditioned as yours because the American game has many minutes where there isn't any action. As I was trying to point out and you conferred, your game has 90 minutes of action, but not everyone is going full speed the entire game. If your team is on attack your defenders back by your goal are hardly moving.
  13. They had better. I've never measured the area but it looked like a business seat takes about the same space as 3 economy seats and a 1st class around 8 economy seats.

I believe the pros have 45 players who are designated active before each game with another 5 or 6 who are inactive. The game has become so specialized that certain players only play based on the yards needed for a first down. The colleges usually vary as many will have more players available for home games than when they travel due to costs. That is one reason to stay away from some of the large points spreads if the favorite is playing at home because they will put in the 4th or 5th string. I've watch a little of the European football game and true they don't stop to huddle up and the game is constant motion but from the little that I saw when the ball is near one end of the field those players near the ball are constantlly moving but the guys away from the ball are not going full speed.

Congratulations KJ. I bet your halftime entertainment wasn't nearly as much fun as mine. They had the game on live here in LOS on a Thai TV channel, couldn't understand a word they said but my halftime was alot of fun.
  16. Bella Villa Prima on Soi 4 has a small workout room and a room should cost you around 1000 baht.
  17. Fonz, I've never stayed there but did take a look at their rooms when they first opened a year ago. It's located on Soi 4 behind the Sunshine serviced apartments. Nice looking rooms and guest friendly. Some construction going on next door but it is in the finishing up stage and should be completeted this summer.
  18. This will vary from individual to individual depending on how cool you like to keep your place and how many square meters you have. Water will vary depending on if your living alone or with a TG. Also Nov thru Feb your electric should be lower than the other months. To answere your question I paid about 1000 baht for elec/water for a 30 day stay in Nov/Dec for my hotel. Then moved to an appartment and stayed about 4 days before returning home and left the TG there. When I returned my total bill for Dec/Jan was about 500.
  19. Yes Lolita's is located in that new complex. I was staying at Dang's on my Nov/Dec trip until I discovered the Holiday Mansion. Cons, they didn't have a pool and I didn't like the security boxes as they were not behind reception but located in the stairwell and were made out of wood. Holiday had the same monthly rate if you didn't get the larger room.
  20. It's about 200 meters to Soi Buakaow where you can jump on a moving baht bus. Besides the cheaper hotels in this area, you'll find the internet and laundry, food and beer cheaper. Since many BG's live in this area you'll find many opportunties if you get out and walk around in the afternoon. Also check out the corner of Soi Buakaow and Soi Dianna. A huge new complex of shops and hotels have just recently opened. At least a dozen small hotels in this area and one large hotel. The large hotel is the only one with a pool.
  21. The promotion code that they gave me for the last one was MPD075.
  22. When they're doing the pile driving it doesn't matter where your room faces, the noise will be bad. A few years back I was staying at the Pattaya Center facing Soi 12 when they were doing the pile driving for the Sandy and it was unbearable.
  23. Some hotels you negotiate and others have published rates. The ones that don't have published rates will depend on how busy they are. I stayed at the Holiday Mansion from mid November to mid December and their published rate was 12,000 per month on their top rooms which have a daily rate of 1200. You also pay for water and electricity on top ( it cost me an extra 1000 for both) and you only get maid service free once a week (100 baht for each additional cleaning).
  24. only 15 minutes. Do you know where I can get a longer version of Ravel's Bolero? I need on about the same lenght as Beethoven's 5th.
