  1. I stay at Mike's Beach on Soi 4 and they only charge me 600 a night for 3-4 week stays. They always place me in one of their upper floors which provides a view of the bay and the room has all glass windows (about 6 meters) opening onto a balcony. The bed is a kingsize and they have never asked me for any credit card details. Emil
  2. It shouldn't be very much if an internet shop can charge 2000 baht for 100 hours of useage and make a profit. These internet shops are also paying for the computer hardware/software, labor and overhead of the shop which would not be included for the hotel. Emil
  3. Bob, I don't, but I would be willing to place a large wager that Duncan Stearn does.
  4. Walking past reception with a different TG everyday and sometimes different ones during the day. Has never bothered me in the least.
  5. jimmac, Send Soi 7 a PM, I believe he's now staying at the Markland.
  6. You've confussed the Dynasty Inn with it's sister hotel the Dynasty Resort. Both are guest friendly, but the Dynasty Inn is located on Soi 13 and is about 200 meters from the beach where you can catch a baht bus to Walking St or walk to it in less than 10 minutes. This hotels is a little over a year old and if you check out the hotel reviews you should find some photos. Emil
  7. If your going to be doing this more than once you could set up a seperate account with your financial institution in your name. Send the debit card by mail to LOS and once they receive it give them the pin number over the phone or email. If your financial institution doesn't charge you any fees, then your only cost is that of mailing the card. Emil
  8. Probably your best bet now, for that time of the year, would be 2 hotel rooms with an adjoining door between them.
  9. I saw a service advertised called "Luxury Visa Service" or something close that has offices both on Soi Buakaow and 3rd Rd. They advertise both smoking and non smoking mini vans with movies to Cambodian and back in one day. Cost was around 2200 or 2400 baht.
  10. I'm not familiar with Centre Condo so it could be one of the following 2 that I've noticed. When I stayed at the Koeing Hotel 2 years ago I noticed a small condo projet being built not far from the Yensabai condos. I think it was on or near Soi 17. Next to the Wat on South Pattaya Rd near 2nd Rd I've seen a large complex but I don't know if its a condo, apartment or hotel. Emil
  11. True Mike, but Inn House rates for a suite are 1400 daily, 8000 weekly and 22,000 for a month and from the original post, cost is a factor. kikc69 Many hotels have at least a few suites. If you like staying up noth near the soapies, soi 6 and the beer bars between soi 4 and soi 1 then check out Bella Villa Prima, Sunshine Vista and Nova Park. Emil
  12. Is Roland on the ballot, I heard he has the Ladyboys of England behind him.
  13. Bigmike, You must be timing yourself with one of those genuine Rolexs bought from a street vendor. Emil
  14. Bambu, Here's the email address that I took off their business card: eastinyinn@hotmail.com This place is owned by the same people as the Eastiny Place and Eastiny Inn so make sure you specify which hotel you want to make a reservation. A great little hotel for the baht although no pool. Emil
  15. If your flying alot during a calender year you could be better off if you stick with one airline so that you can take advantage of their frequent flyer program, as extra benefits kick in once you reach a certain level. Emil
  16. Lord Nelson is on Soi 6 not to far from the Queeen Vic, the problem there will be that they only have a few rooms so it doesn't take much to fill up. When you get replies from the Sabai Inn/Lodge make sure that it includes the new Sabai Resort. They might only tell you about the room availability for their respective properties. Emil
  17. When I'm not dealing directly with the airlines I use Unique Travel located in Sacramento and have been very happy with their service as I've paid between $600 and $800 R/T form Sacramento. United Airlines has a class called Economy Plus, the seats aren't any wider but they do provide I believe an additional 5" of legroom compared to economy. Emil
  18. You might want to try Mike's Orchid and the Sabai Resort. Mike's Orchid is scheduled to have their new addition completed by the end of this year and the Sabai Resort is also scheduled to be completed with their renovation of the old Weekender at the end of this year. There are numerous place that have recently opened however many don't have emails. You shouldn't have any problem finding a room as long as your not too picky. Emil
  19. Besides the 2 Flippers in the Soi 7/8 area, look at the Eastiny Place, Eastiny Inn, Bella Vista, Sunshine and the Pig and Whistle. These places should be less than a 1000 and you are right in the middle of a few hundred bargirls and easy access to Beach Rd and 2nd Rd. Emil
  20. On my 2 freebies I was only charged 60K. Both times I called their 800 number and received departures dates that I was asking. Also on both trips I had one leg where I flew on Thai Air. Emil
  21. Regarding the Bamboo Bar, when I was last their about 2 weeks ago I was disappointed that the band and singer (who use to be at FLB) that use to be the first band on, had been replaced by another band. Emil
  22. Roland's directions are the best, if the driver doesn't take North Pattaya Rd hopefully he'll take the Central Pattaya Rd and have him stay on it until he hits Beach Rd, then a left of Soi Yamoto or Soi Post Office. Emil
  23. Hub, As you mentioned the balls go much further now than in the 30's so that would take up some of the slack for the longer courses. Also which greens would you have preffered to putt on, the ones back then or the ones today that cost in the tens of thousands. Again I'm not much of a player, but I would think the width of the fairways are more important than the length. Emil
  24. I probably shouldn't be posting here because I've only played a few rounds of golf in my life, but I am a sports fan and have many friends that play the game. In the past 30 years I 've heard all the claims about all the improvements in the golf balls that appear every few years and all the improvements in the clubs. These improvements always seem to cost more than the current equipment. If all these claims were true, then if Bobby Jones would have had access to them when he played he would have been shooting rounds in the high 40's. Emil
  25. Sunshine Vista, Bella Villa Prima and Sandy Springs, and for a 3 week stay you should be able to get their standard rooms for around 1000 a night. Since your willing to pay up to 2500 you could get one of their suites. All 3 are between Beach Rd and 2nd Rd so you can get anywhere by jumping on a baht bus. Emil
