  1. That's still more than I pay for an internet order here in the UK but not as high as some sources.
  2. A late note on my flight. Excellant aircraft and service. but the change and security at Mumbai was annoying.
  3. Flew with Kingfisher in July Good flight and service Only down side was that the return connection through Mumbai security means no liquids (duty free) from Bangkok
  4. How many years of world flying to match the pollution from the Icelandic volcano eruption?
  5. I've booked with Kingfisher in June . Somehow I don't expect economy will be 5 star
  6. I just wish Gordon Brown wasn't putting up the air taxes so I could afford to fly more often. It's not the planes causing global warming by emissions its all the hot air from the politicians and too many having more kids

    Phuket

I like Patong on Phuket as a resort an it has a good beach but it is more and more a family / couples resort and with higher prices. Still some good value accommodation and bars as long as you avoid the tuk tuk bandits
  8. Patongs Tuk Tuk drivers should be issued with masks. If they are going to act like Dick Turpin they should look like hime as well.
  9. You can try Skype, either VOIP or by phone Lebara

    BA

That's the Heathrow Express. The premium service . I f you go from another station such as Victoria using the stanbdard tube service you will find that maintenance work has been going on for at least the last 9 months and that you have to catch a bus part of the way. Bloody awful journey
  11. Air Asia via KL but you have to book well in advance to get the best fare Royal Brunei can be cheap ..a long way round Jet Save can have problems with the Indian connection

    BA

Agreed, I live in Kent but getting to Heathrow by public transport is still a pig ( especially recently with the london underground direct link out of action) Going by car is also fraught with the problems that occur occasionally n the M25. Its no fun being in a 3 hour tail back trying to make a flight check in time
  13. Thanks I'll have a look and see how it compares to tucows and Cnet

    BA

I've travelled with BA and Quantas a 2 or 3 times when their direct flight prices have been competitive. Each time I have asked myself why I didn't book with another airline service or even save money with a stop off somewhere. I remember the Quantas flight was the worst. A domineering head steward I quote " You must all now recline your seats and sleep" The last BA flight I didn't see a single female member of the cabin crew. Mind you the men all minced very prettily. Thai aircraft may be a bit old but the service is much friendlier.
  15. I've given up trying to get a good Indian meal in Thailand. The quality is just not as good as in other parts of the world (and that includes other SE Asian countries) .
  16. Don't fall for the first girl you see Don't fall for the last girl you see and remember Conrad Doblers famous words "If it floats flies or f**ks its cheaper to rent"
  17. The best thing to do is spend some time trawling the comparator sites and your favourite airlines. You could also try a couple of companies by phone Westeast travel. dial a flight etc or even join the Wexas travel club. A day googling should give you plenty of information
  18. They were at The Thaifood festival in Greenwich today (9th August). Their best direct flight offer I think was £409 with EVA.
  19. Looks OK the shorter the time in Doha the better. Not a good transit area to spend a lot of time in.
  20. Great video, I'll have the melon from the bottom of the stack
  21. Well I see the English flag flying So for Pattaya think Blackpool, Patong on Phuket could be Brighton Other coastal resorts maybe Eastbourne Chaing Mai and inland cities your local county town. No where is it as "in your face" hedonism as Pattaya.
  22. Worked for me , although no reply and still no "juicy" topics to read
  23. What about the bus? Bangkok to Pattaya about 300baht plus a bit for baht bus for the last mile or so to wherever you are going
