That batter looks ok to me Evil, at least its not stodgy, but each to his own. Ive sort of given up on fish and chips in Thailand, although I do think Frydays are pretty decent. The cottage Pie is excellent though,as are the sausages and Pork Steaks. Its well worth another visit Evil IMHO

Thanks for the review Evil. Ive eaten twice at the Ferret and won't be going back. The worst soggy chips you can imagine, even worse than Palmers

I have no interest in any of the businesses below and the proprietors are no more the nodding acquaintances Pakbungloyfah This was a direct recommendation from Evil Penevil via one of his excellent reports. It’s a Thai food restaurant on second Road, a 2 minute walk northwards from the South Pattaya Road junction. Pakbungloyfah serves really nice Thai food at a reasonable price. The menu is expansive and is suited to all tastes. I usually ordered the fried rice with crab as a side dish along with either an omelette or fried squid or fried belly pork; to be honest everything I had here was re

My web browser is internet explorer 11 on windows 7. I cant even cut and paste within the forum or even in the reply boxes. It was only a bit of a review of nice places I've been eating at recently -

Ive eaten here a few times and the food is absolutely delicious, the only slight downside for me is that the portions can be a little small. Well worth a visit though

Mmmm I think I will continue with China Garden until this place gets a few more positive reviews and/or more appetising photos

It looks nice too. Just carrying on from the discussion on the other thread regarding UK currys etc, according to Wikipedia here is what British foreign secretary Robin Cook said in 2001 "Chicken Tikka Massala is now a true British national dish, not only because it is the most popular, but because it is a perfect illustration of the way Britain absorbs and adapts external influences." He went on to explain that "Chicken Tikka is an Indian dish. The Massala sauce was added to satisfy the desire of British people to have their meat served in gravy." That ties in with the fact that EK's meal

Is 30B worth a motorbike taxi knifing?
parry replied to SmellyFarang's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
It sounds like you could have handled it better mate but the outcome could have been a lot worse. Incidentally, right from my first trip I was told that 40baht is the mototaxi fare from Walking to LK Metro/Diana and its what I have always paid -
Tikka Centre on Soi Boukaow, at the junction of Boukaow and Honey. Not the Ritz by any stretch of the imagination, but a spot on curry. Chiken Tikka Masala, popadoms, Tandoori Roti and a soda came in at about 200 baht. I went 3 times on my last trip and it was always good. I'd had it recommended via a thread on Secrets I seem to remember. Im from Bradford btw so I know my Rubys

Im no expert but I quite like Lee's Diner on Soi Diana (adjacent) to Heartbeat. Nice thin crispy base and reasonably generous toppings.

Im not sure mate, in the small print it states that as soon as they issue an invoice ( ie straight away) I have a legal obligation.

Yes I thought about that one, 10 hours is a ball ache and it also meant getting into Manchester at 3.30pm instead of 7am and Im working next day so would have been in even more of a rush etc

Booked a flight last week MAN-BKK through Holiday Genie, who, according to Skyscanners, offered the best price. I normally check the details very carefully before I press the pay button but now being an "expert" and always booking the same flight, on this occasion I gave them a cursory once over and pressed pay. Big Mistake. I had booked myself a 10 hour stopover in Abu Dhabi coming home instead of the usual 2. Both flights were the same price I had just selected the wrong one. I realised my mistake 2 minutes later when I read the confirmatory email and immediately rang Holiday Genie who sai

In my original post I said that I had heard that the 18 coins had a new chef and that I would give it a try. I went for sunday lunch yesterday and had the 129 baht special; roast pork and chicken,Yorkshire, veg, roast and mash. Honestly, penny for penny, it was one of the best meals I have had in Thailand and well worth a visit. I have also been to the Acropolis a couple of times for a snack. This is the Greek shack just off Soi Boukow near the Sawasdee Purple Hotel. I would recommend the Chicken Souvlaki at 60 baht, much nicer than those kebab stands IMHO

I eventually got there this morning and had the full English. The Golf Club was "tit free" the other morning so I had what they call The Wentworth which is also the full English. Both spot on and I will return to both places and am happy to recommend.

Thanks for the heads up Mike, ive never been in the Queen Vic but will give it a try. Tropical Berts is also on my to do list in that area

I went to Lone Star Grill, Soi Lengkee on Monday and had the daily special, Sirlon steak at 199 baht. I believe that this restaurant is owned by the same team as the pretty decent Jolly Friar and the formerly good, now poor, Devonshire. The meal I had resembled something that you would get at the Devonshire on a bad day; shoe leather steak, cold chips and onion rings that tasted of vegetable oil. The bill was 250 including coffee. I left no tip and made no representation to the staff. I will vote with my feet and wallet. Breakfast this morning was at the Pig and Whistle. Now I did hear fr
