  1. If so I sure hope they've upgraded the seaview deluxe rooms. Other BM's know?
  2. PBR-too far from beach rd., (but ok I'm a senior citizen). Eastiny, Sunshine, Sunbeam, Flipper- too loud, no view. Opey, Haven, JP Court, have not tried. BM's please add reviews, with prices. My favorite, (and I've stayed in alot of hotels), baht for baht, is still Sandy Spring. 1) Good price 2) Quiet, yet steps from beach rd. 3) Friendly, guest friendly staff. 4) great pool 5) deluxe sea view rooms, awesome balcony over pool with sea view. Great sunsets. 6) Three resturant menus for room service. Breakfast buffet 1/2 block away. I am interested in hearing other newer hotel
  3. Back on thread, DUSA, glad to hear the back is getting back to normal.
  4. Cyber bullies unite. And yet after all these years Kryptonite, you still can't move away from your shtick of pushing around people. It's almost as fun and responsible as drinking and driving with your children in the car eh? Big Chief chases posters around so he can feel good about himself, and has the nerve to say he knows me. Krytostink, you don't know me at all, so don't flatter yourself. Go ahead and spin your lie that I live in a trailer, if that gets you hard, your a sad little man, with a sad little lifestyle. Attack is all you know and your a one trick pony that's been outed so ma
  5. Big D remains an easy target. These days it seems that anyone who states an opinion, makes a point, or cites a view, becomes fair game for those who's posts, tend to only react and criticize. Whatever. Just makes you guys come off like whiny little bitches, which probably isn't far off the mark. But that's what one gets on a monger board. I've known DUSA for over 10 years and I've seen hilarious, outrageous posts. But always, and I do mean always, he seems to attract this small people with nothing better to do than to attack, attack, attack. Even when the dude is down, more attacks. Light
  6. DUSA I'm glad it wasn't worse. I've gotten sick a few times on holiday, most notable the second trip when I had to be wheeled onto the plane following the pilot "interview" with requisite warning not to die during the flight. Fly bit my feet, and they swelled like two balloons, fever, near delirum. MD called it sepsis, a blood infection. Sure was glad to get back home.
  7. Hands down the funniest thing yet on this board............. Please test market on Mr. Papillon, MM will probably thank you. I remember fantasizing as a kid whenever I saw the X-Ray specs ad in the comic books. Man, if I had those specs my life would be complete!
  8. Thank you for the trip report. I have to say I've never been there, so I'll have to put it on my list base upon your recomendation. Thanks.
  9. For shear Pattaya weirdness, Marilyns on walking street. The home of the infamous "pussy" show with cigarettes smoked, goldfish packed, paintbrush shoved, florescent thread packed, darts shot, ping pong balls shot etc., etc. I'm pretty sure that was the name of it, but you guys feel free to chime in if I'm wrong. I took a MILF waitress from there upstairs for a shorttime, and she rocked my world. Now it's long gone. Oh well, still got the memories.
  10. Thank you for the excellent transport info........ After buses and vans, I'm more of the taxi adventure type. The worst time was 2AM, the Yabba man, smacking himself in the face for an hour and a half alternately doing 70mph, then 30mph, though at least he stayed in one lane.
  11. Most folks round here know my preferences, but for the record here it is. 1) Sandy Spring, Soi 13- 1600baht per night or something like that. G-friendly, nice lobby staff, clean room, discreet maid service, lobby safe, cable, balcony, full seaview, three resturant and hotel resturant room service, nice pool, steps from beach rd baht bus stop, short 1 blk to buffet breakfast. It has everything. I've stayed at Eastiny, Sunshine, Jasmine, Flipper, Areca, and lots of others, Sandy consistently meets and exceeds my needs.
  12. I usually stay at the Sandy Spring on Soi 13. At first I thought it was a negative that they didn'nt have safes in the room, only behind the lobby counter. It works very nicely however, and I've never had a thing nicked in the room. I lock some stuff up in the suitcase, and am certain the girl would get stopped picking up her id at the lobby. That's given that she made it out of the room with the goods. I've found the room safes a hassle, but that's just me.
  13. Excellent distinction. I stand corrected sir. distilled removes all minerals, leaves water sterile, filtered is through carbon filter or similar process. It's mountain spring water for me, and once in a blue moon Perrier.
  14. Ditto on the scotch. It's a single malt at least 10yr old for me, on the rocks. That's in the hotel. I usually keep a bottle of good gin, and bottles of tonic water as well, some limes around too. The fridge is filled daily with jumbo heinikens, gatorades, cold cans of coffee, and of course springwater, not the distilled tap shit. In the bars it's heineken, singha, or gin and tonics, though I tend to send about half back to the mixer for a second try at making a passable drink. Yeah, I'm picky. OBLA DEE BRO.
  15. Dude, now all we need is a few pics of 100 baht plates of mystery fish, and we got a fer sure Gabor reply....
  16. If you find baboona not to your liking, I suggest Sandy Spring on Soi 13, top floor deluxe seaview, with full balcony, huge window looking out over ocean. Within budget stated, very nice staff, good pool, you won't be disappointed.
  17. If it's the same line that runs above Sukhumvit, I'll posit you exit at the "Nana" station. Please, correct me it I'm wrong.
  18. Anyone else have experiences at Windy Inn? If so please share.
  19. I've read several places that Penthouse has bugs, and the rooms and furnishings are old. I've never stayed there, a bit too sleazy for me, but up to you, maybe other BM's can comment. Places I've stayed near walking street. 1) Lek 2) Sandy Spring 3) Diamond Beach Hotel 4) Orioke- or whatever it's now called. Years ago, I loved the Diamond Beach seaview deluxe for location, but alas the fountain they call a pool, was a tad too small. Glorious decadence right in the shit. Sandy Spring is great but last year got real sick from the AC. Nice balcony with full seaview, and great po
  20. Ok, boys and girls, as my wheels up gets closer, here is the final rundown. I appreciate all feedback on quality and experiences. Thank you for the hotel trip experiences thus far. Tell me what you think of the choices. 1) Jasmine Hotel- Seaview top floor deluxe. Location. Location. For first four days. 2) Dynasty Resort- Bungalow with short time longtime when I meet her. This is versus the Koh Samet mid week trip for snorkeling. 3) Residence Gardens vs. Pattaya Bay Resort. I got reservations for both, but will cancel one or both as mood and whim dictates.
  21. Cicero1520- Thanks again, can't get a response on the e-mail inquiry for BJ. Got one from Mr. BJ, but when I try to lock down the dates, nothing. You got a e-mail address that works? Also, if you can give me a few room #'s to request that would be great. Read your posts on other forums, thanks for the insights. Mr.Bill2-August Suites is a bit outta my range, thanks anyways.
  22. I can't believe my luck. Every year I'm more amazed at the "dance" of securing a reservation and locking down a decent room. This is the e-mail from Summer Spring. On their site the suite room is 2990 baht per night. If you have the secret to unlocking a 1000 baht per night room with a sea-view at Summer Spring, please tell. I'm probably not the only one that'd like to know. "Dear Sir, Thank you for your e-mail. Our DLX/SP rooms are available on ---- but the room is not seaview ( half of sea view at the balcony). If you would like to that room is call Suite Seaview room. Rega
  23. OK Boys, I'm narrowing my list, but here goes. Tell me what you think. I've made some attitude adjustments and loosened restrictions. Let's hear your feedback. Slobs like me get two weeks a year, and I like to make the best of them. 1) Jasmine Hotel- Superior +, Soi BJ with seaview balcony. No Pool though. 2) BJ Hotel- Soi 3, No seaview, but balcony and pool. 3) Pasadena Lodge- Balcony. Very cool looking. 4) Pattaya Bay Resort- following the herd. 5) Residence Gardens- no seaview, but looks like nice private garden views, also see 4. 6) Alt. to islands, change it up with Dynasty R
  24. Cicero, This is the e-mail from BJ "All rooms are 'smoking' and with balcony. No real seaviews available. The daily rate for the period is 1000 baht. It doesn't get any cheaper this near the beachfront. We have only daily and monthly rates. Thanks for your interest in staying at BJ Holiday Lodge." Regards, BJ So does this mean an almost seaview, somewhat......Frankly if one can see the "sea" from
  25. That's really a poorly thought out post. You need to check your sources. A simple, well placed piece of misinformation, and you just run with it. Simpleminded, and poorly thought out. Now if you have no useful information to further the thread with, will you please not respond? Does MM know you are back. If not Stinky, Kryptonite, Big Chief, Green Slime, he will when he gets my PM. Sad threads on this forum have to deal with trolls. Your a sad individual.
