  1. I breifly spoke to him during the summer and he has a distinct British accent. I'm amazed he hasnt been pickedup yet.
  2. I reccomend Daves 75 baht breakfast. Alot of food for the money and it was hot. No cofffee refills though and that waitress could use a personality make over.
  3. Had the 75 baht breakfast this morn. Was quite pleased. Good amount of food for the money, all hot and fresh. Only thing was waitress could have been in a better mood and the hashbrowns I ordered on the side were of the pressed, frozen portioned variety.
  4. for breakfast I like Apex 2nd road 120 baht, dinner buffet Lek on 2nd rd 150 baht
  5. From reading the article I got the impression that to get that unlimeted atm refund you would hafto be set up with automatic deposit but if you went to their site you got it from the horses mouth.

  7. I dont beleive you well. Reason being, there an on line only bank there by their op. costs are much less. Also, instead of investing in their own atm's, they found it cheaper to allow you to use someone elses and they pu the fees. I would suggest you go to their web site to get the specifics. Im just sharing the article and what I happen to know about on line banks in general.
  8. According to The Wall Street Journal, June 10th, 2011 Money Section article " Online Banks Cut the Costs" if you sign up with Charles Schwab or State Farm on line banking, you can get all you atm fees refunded including fees from foreign banks if you meet some seemingly resonable critera. It seems like an all around good deal to begin with judging by the content of the article.
  9. Havent made arrangements to Patt yet, anyone up for cost/ride sharing
  10. a few things to keep in mind: First, observe where the Thais eat. they know the good places. If you see a line that means quick turn over so its usualy fresher and safe.If you had not tried a place yet a safe approach is dont eat to much on the first try. that way if it doesnt agree with you, youll be able to recover faster and wont get as sick, Im a street food addict and I only got sick once and that was from freid chicken in Bk on Khaosen rd. I lost about 3.5 days of my vac because of it. the food was sitting for a while and I should have known better.
  11. this is what I do to keep from getting ripped off and so far its worked. First remember that if they're gone to rip you off, they'l size you up first to see if they think your a good marc. So I always take a calculator . When Im in ft of the window I;m looking at the exchange rate and punching into the calc. this works for two reasons. First the obvious knowing what your suppose to get back. but secondly and I think more importantly, is that when they see you punching numbers into a calculator they know your on it and your not gone to be an easy mark. good luck and lets keep them honest
  12. I know one thing. The very first exchange booth on WS to the rt is the most expensive one. The one rt next to it is cheaper along with the rest. Besides when I changed money there they kept my immigration paper I need to get out of LOS, the one they stick in your passport. I went back the next day and luckily they had it. No apology, no nothing. the rude bitch acted like it was my fault and they charge higher than anyoine on wk just cause there the first one.
  13. I know that happened in Hawaii. a teenage worker was trying to help someone that dropped their jewelry in an intake.
  14. I would not assume that the tapes are ereased after a few days. Having worked with servailance systems I have found it is common even for low end systems to backup for two years spicifically for things liike this. I do wish you luck. Please let us know as the facts unfold. I would love to know how she cracked that safe.
  15. If your heading to Patt around that time, please contact me
  16. Sorry you had trouble but the story's worth a ton of laughs. The fact that most those women are so damn cute sure helps, don't it?
  17. three cheers to that! Nice there are some places where we know what we're getting.
  18. stayed summer of 2009. Was without water for about 2 days with no apolagee or explaination. The nite security guard was a grumpy old bastard. I was w/o ac for a couple of hours and nothing was done until I went to the desk and complained a second time, first time by phone. I got alot of attitude at the ft desk but than it was promptly fixed. The thing I liked most about it was the bathtub as opposed to only a shower and the location and price at that time. I would give it a 7 out of 10.
  19. Would be nice to have a bathtub and it would be especialy nice to have the faucet raised so you dont hafto decide if its gone to be in the way of her back or yours if you know what I mean. Also, some coin laundry machines on premises especialy including driers. perhaps an option to do your own or have it done would be good for both guest and you. And how about this; runners available for a resonable fee if say you want that noodle soup from down the street but dont want to go get it. That could be a novel idea that I dont think any hotel offers yet. Good luck, Ill be watching for your opening.
