The Irish Wolfhound about 50m down on Soi 4 Pratamnak has some cheap meals and they are quite good. It's a bit out of the way from where you guys are staying but maybe it might intersest some people. I had a pork chop with mash, peas and gravy a couple of days ago. It was180฿ But the pork chop covered half of the large plate. I'll check out some others on their menu.

Had it bad twice. Both times was from eating chicken dishes at the hole in the wall place on Soi Bukaow near LK Metro. Firing from both ends. Never again.

Thanks, I'll check them out. They're not too far from where I am. I was coming back from the Naklua post office and I found a place on Soi Bukaow, same side as Wok n Rock but South a bit. Getting my fix now of BBQ chicken with Nandos sauce.

I like a BBQ chicken. They seem to be hard to find these days. The closest place to me to get one was on Ptratamnak rd near the intersection with Thrappaya. He seems to have shut shop, haven't seen him open in a while. There was a place at food mart on Trappaya and a similar one at the corner of 3rd road and Soi reginal land. Both shut when I went yesterday. So I rode out to Tesco. None in the BBQ chicken section. I ask the lady what happened, where is the BBQ chickens? I get the "no hab" and accompanying blank stare. Not all cover charges are created equally. I would think of Witherspoons cover charge as more of a minimum spend for entry. You get something else, not just admission. I'm sure all the bars showing it will be busy. It would be interesting to see how Witherspoons does. If I was in town I would go there.

Yup, I reckon the worst thing a bar could do for this event would be to put on free food. You would have every slow sipping cheap Charlie in town occupying your seats.

It is a huge event. 400 baht for a beer and a bit of food, great idea. Will probably keep away the expats that want to take up seats and drink 2 draught beers over 2 hours. Most of these sports bars aren't trying to sell you lady drinks, so if you don't drink much then you aren't their number one choice of customer. I'll be away working and will be lucky if I get to see a replay before some idiot spurts out the result. I wish I could pay $13 USD for a beer, a bit of food and see the fight live.

I think it is meant to ease traffic on Sukumvit from North Pattaya to Jomtien. Say you are coming from Bangkok and going to Bang Saray. I don't think it will change too much. The problem I see is I have been on Sukumvit before when there was a big down pour. The water was knee deep. Where will that water run? I'm thinking into the tunnel. How will they get it out?

Last time I went it was about a month ago. The sauce was a BBQ sauce. I think it was a Tuesday. It was all you can eat ribs day. The first lot they brought me was quite small and the meat was tough, very difficult to get off the ribs. The second lot were bigger. The meat could easily be pulled of the ribs with a couple of forks, very nice. I have had them there in the past they were always tender like this. 2 servings was enough for me. A friend went there about 2 months ago. He told me they had changed the menu and the food had gone downhill in a big way.

Can you go from Sth rd Sukumvit along Sukumvit to the hiway to Bangkok? Also the opposite then turning right onto Sth rd? I'm hoping my taxi driver knows but might tell her to come a bit earlier. Getting picked up at 8:30am for a 12:30 flight
