orientaltaffy replied to Tweety's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Hi , Areca Lodge can anyone please tell me how much a night and location, cheers -
Weat East rang me today with a price of £490 for the same flight I booked yesterday, I'm not bitter, I'm just happy that I'm GOING to LOS

Good un Ilich (THG also?), going for new years eh, have a good time.

Hi just booked with my regular agents THG in Swansea, tried most places but no one could get me on a direct flight for 21/01/05 cheaper than £509 inc. taxes, seats still available if anyone's looking. I can only go for a week but when I booked today I became a very happy chappy after having a very miserable :crying xmas and new year.

Hi I will be arriving at Don Muang on TG911 on 22/01/05 at 6.10am and am looking to share a taxi to Pattaya

If you can get an extra day or two then go for it if not go to Prague instead.

Hi all, anyone know or heard of any agents able to beat THG's price of £509 inc taxes with Thai International Air going out on 14th January, back on 23rd January, can only go for a week this trip due to work so would like to get it a bit cheaper if possible and want to go direct with Thai for the miles.

Hi just in case anyone else is looking I just booked my flight with Thai Air, out on 2/07/04 returning on 18/07/04 with my regular travel agent, (THG Swansea 01792 483320) for £489 inc taxes in cattle class, my mate booked the same flight 3 day's ago but he's staying a bit longer for the same price. I tried westeast travel and lees travel but they wanted £45 and £75 more. I am now a very happy bunny, the depression is lifting and I feel like it's my birthday again.

Cheers Tom I'll check it out.

Hi anyone know if it's possible to get a return flight from the nearest airport to Pattaya (utapo?) going to the nearest airport to Korat and how much it might cost, if this is not possible how long to do it on a bus or by taxi/minibus and how much. Anyone done this trip and is it a nightmare, my ex who is now a very good friend has finally finished building her house and rang me today to invite me up for a house warming party when I go back to Los in July and I'd love to go and see another part of Thailand but not if it's too much hassle as I'm only going for 2 weeks and don't want to waste t

Thx BigDUSA I have told him to sort it out last week.

cheers to the guy's for the sensible replies but I've had a reply today from my usual travel agents (thg) and they have quoted me £499 out on tg917 on 02nd or04th/07/04 return on any other flight I choose, this is only £20 more than I normally pay and it may yet be cheaper, I'll know tomorrow. Torrenova (a bit sarcastic ain't you ) the two for £600 was just an example and not set in stone , I hope the moon don't hit the earth, at least not until after I get back. :crying Cheshire Tom I 'm not bothered about the upgrade but it would be nice to get it, I'm more interested in the

Cheers guy's, I have used THG 5 times and have paid between £399 and £499 for flights on thai (the 499 included 2 nights hotel in BKK @ jade pavillion soi 22) in April, June, October and November but this year it seems that everything is more expensive, why? I thought July was low season and flights would be at their cheapest and was hoping for a good deal , eg. 2 for £600 approx. if anyone hears of an offer please post it as I and my mate would be very grateful , we've got the blues big time and need our medication before dementia sets in.
-
Hi anyone know/heard of any cheap flights/ offers for 3rd-28th July with Thai for 2 maybe 3 people, must be with Thai as I am a card holder and need the extra baggage allowance for the return plus they have sent me a free upgrade to business for one way/lounge etc. I heard they were doing 2 for around £600 in June and was hoping that they might have a similar offer for July.

Intown Holiday Hotel Avoid !
orientaltaffy replied to MAD_DOG1's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Stayed there (with mates, had 3 rooms) for 10 nights in November without any problems for only 550baht a night, we even left our gear in the rooms and shot off to Ko-Samet for a few days, our usual hotel on previous trips was the High Five but after seeing the state of it I refused to stay there(thank god as it caught fire recently) and went to the Intown. -
Stiffler try Mandy in THG Swansea (travel house), she has got me direct flights with Thai air on numerous occasions during april, june/july, nov. for betwen £399-£479 and some of these have included 2-3 nights hotel in bkk, I don't have their tel number to hand but they are on teletext and in the yellow pages and have shops everywhere, she even managed to get my mate from Glos. a flight the next day with the same return when he decided to come with us at the last minute. edit, ps don't forget your wetsuit/brolly and supersoaker for those dates lol ;D

Why not try Hat Sai Kiew on Ko-Samet, take the ferry from Ban-Fe, after 25 minutes get off at first stop and catch pick up truck to beach (5min), its very quiet/peaceful and not too far away. See Dave in the Queen Victoria pub on soi 6 or tel.01-3779177,01-6363710,06-0246374, he operates Sanook Leisure and he can get you accomodation for around 600baht per night. I stayed in Hat Sai Kiew Villas, it was a very large/clean room with fan (aircon is available), me and my mates sat outside on the balcony with our tg's and a bottle of Johnnie Walker late evening just talking and chilling, it was gre

Sky-Top Hotel 350 per night
orientaltaffy replied to BigDUSA's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Big D any more info on sky top, eg., pool, safety boxes, balcony, fridge, bath/shower, clean+tidy etc. u know the full hit on any info as I'm looking for a cheapie this Nov. as too many trips already and the budgets tight for accomodation and I need all my dough for the ladies. ;D -
Hi guy's I will be back in Pty on Nov. 9th for 2 weeks with 3 mates and was wondering if anyone has heard of any 7 nights for 5 nights deals or similar going, like they had in flipper house in July, this worked out at 535 baht per night, or can you recommend a cheap/clean hotel with pool etc in central/south Pty for about 600bt, fancied Tims but no pool. Thanks in advance, [smiley=cheers.gif] Tony

Wiggly you need to be a bit more specific, is this a family holiday as your bringing the missus along, any kids?, if so you need a family hotel out of town like the Cholchan resort in northern Pattaya or somewhere in the south like Jomtien, if not then try the FLIPPER LODGE in soi 8 as its right in the thick of it and across the road from PTY beach, have a good time anyhow.
-
IMHO I think you should try 1-3 nights in BKK then go to PTY and then decide if you want to go back to BKK before going home, you can divide the nights up in BKK, spending 1 night at Nana, 1 night in Patpong and 1 in Soi Cowboy and do something different on the return if you want leaving 6-9 in PTY. Bkboiler on my last trip I and my 2 mates also thought that going to BKK for 1-2 nights before departure (so as not to miss our flight) would be wise but this was not to be and we still don't know how it happened even so the extra three day's were great but it did cost us dearly as the plastic

Pattaya to Korat/Nakhon Ratchasima
orientaltaffy replied to grs90's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Hey Uptome we must dislike the same things as I hate fucking buses too, I was married to the back of one for 15 years lol. ;D ;D ;D -
Emil how could you!, you know that in peppermint that if you sit by the stage the girls will drag IWAN up there to help with the show. Iwan wear earplugs use tunnel vision and concentrate on where your going until you reach the FLB, meet the other members then let it all go as you go on your first prowl, have a great time and maybe I'll see you there for a beer as I'll be there in Nov. I have been to LOS four times in the last 2 years and have been unlucky enough to have split a condom at least once on every trip, on my return home I have had the full STD and HIV tests but have always had to wait for at least 3 months before they would do them, thankfully all have been negative results and what peace of mind that is. On one occasion my former G/F surprised me when I got to PTY by telling me she loved me so much and proving it by showing me a negative HIV test result from the hospital that she had done just for me before I arrived, it cost her 900baht and was her way of sayi

Be arriving with two mates on the 9th also, that's 39, yes 39 day's to go and we can't wait to be back and to make like butterflies, pollinating all those beautiful thai flowers. Looks like loads of board members will be in town, should be a fun time @ flb. [smiley=grin.gif] [smiley=grin.gif] [smiley=grin.gif]
